In the wake of the highly successful anime series Kimetsu no Yaiba, the recently released feature film Gekijouban Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-hen burst into the Japanese box office and immediately set a new record. The film hit Japanese theaters on October 16 and has earned $ 44 million over the past three days. For comparison, I will mention that the feature film "Frozen 2" in the first three days in Japan earned "only" $ 18.2 million.
Just in case, I'll clarify that restrictions on cinema visits in Japan were lifted in mid-September, which undoubtedly helped such a success, but the numbers are still extremely impressive.
When and in what form this film will reach us is unknown. At least at the moment no information about the licensee has been found.
