Studio Khara has announced a new release date for Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0: Thrice Upon A Time - the final part of the tetralogy "New Evangelion" - scheduled for release on January 23, 2021. Before the film was supposed to be released in the summer of 2020, however, production was delayed due to the pandemic.
The Evangelion Rethinking Tetralogy consists of: Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone , Evangelion: 2.0 You Can [Not] Advance, and Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo , which debuted in 2007, 2009 and 2012, respectively. The production of the last part of Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0: Thrice Upon A Time was delayed due to financial problems, and subsequently due to the virus.
