Redditor Discovers A Tricky Way To Deal With The Goblin Camp In Baldur's Gate 3

A Reddit user has found a way to deal with the goblin camp at Selune Temple without having to raise a sword or cast spells. The trick requires only a bottle of poison, some quick wits, and a few lucky throws.

Goblin Camp is the main plot of Act 1. Regardless of which path you take, you will almost certainly have to deal with a squad of goblins in one way or another. Unless you decide to side with the goblins (or you don't get some very lucky rolls when talking to their leader), there is a pretty good chance you will end up having a hard time getting out of the camp after killing the goblin boss.

It can be a grueling, time-consuming battle with nearly endless waves of goblins. Luckily, there is a clever way to deal with the goblins if you want to avoid combat altogether.

When you first enter the camp, the goblins do what goblins usually do: drink and fool around. You may notice that most goblins have a slightly drunk status effect that grants them a penalty on certain rolls, and in fact, if you climb to the top of the temple, you will find a group of goblins lying unconscious. This is your first clue that there might be a way to deal with the goblins more easily.

Deal With The Goblin Camp In Baldur's Gate 3

User u / ghostraptor626 has shown on his Reddit thread , near the stage where Volo is performing, there is a bucket of booze that can be poisoned. After waiting for the nearest goblins to leave, and then entering turn-based mode, you can force any of your characters to combine a poisonous potion with a bucket.

When you exit step-by-step mode, a cut-scene of the dialogue will appear. It would be wise to use your most cunning character (trickery and sleight of hand) to poison the booze, because you will need to pass a skill check during this dialogue. If you lose, the goblins will make you drink first. It may be helpful to take a Poison Resistance Potion before doing this plan.

Once the goblins drink, they will be quickly killed by the poison. You won't get as much experience as you would have killed them all in the normal way, but this method will save a lot of time and lead to another pleasant story.
