Sony will continue to expand its in-house game studio list

Sony continues to be the leader in exclusive AAA products. However, the recent deal, during which Microsoft was able to acquire Bethesda, raises suspicions that it will now be more difficult for the Japanese platform holder to outflank its main competitor.

Jim Ryan, head of the SIE, is not too worried about this. Ryan said Sony will continue to "organically" build the company's internal development capacity and help expand its top studios such as Guerrilla Games and Sony Santa Monica.

In addition, Jim Ryan noted that the company plans to strengthen the internal capabilities of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide through selective mergers and acquisitions. This will allow Sony to focus more on developing exclusive PlayStation 5 products.

Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide currently has 14 game studios. The company 's most recent major acquisition was Insomniac Games, creators of Marvel's Spider-Man and Ratchet and Clank.
