Cyberpunk 2077 will have a gripping story that could only be told in the cyberpunk universe

In an interview with Ungeek, screenwriter Cyberpunk 2077 Tsemnevski Paul elaborated on the themes of cyberpunk that will be present in the game, including links to other cyberpunk media, such as "Blade Runner", the stories of Philip K. Dick, and others.

As you dive into the reality of Night City, you will discover many references and inspirations to well-known cyberpunk imagery. You'll find references to Neuromancer and other works by Ulliam Gibson, as well as Blade Runner or other Philip Dick stories, and you'll see aesthetics specific to cyberpunk anime, transhuman and posthuman themes, as well as inspiration from film noir, film and novels that greatly influenced the genre.

All of these links help create the atmosphere of Cyberpunk 2077 and help players immerse themselves in the cyberpunk feeling even more.

You will definitely feel this "cyberpunk feeling" and you will stumble upon stories that show the brightness and shadow of life in a high-tech world, in a highly automated society, in a constant tension between the violence typical of street life and the oppression typical of high-tech social life. ... You will get a feel for the seemingly comfortable and accessible culture of Night City around you, but you will also get a taste of the counterculture, its characteristic rebellion and disagreement with the prevailing balance of power. You will admire the beauty of the city and probably ask yourself more than once how much it will cost you to survive in it.

Pavel Cemniewski also talked about the team's goal and vision for the history of Cyberpunk 2077. From the outset, the development team viewed the history of Cyberpunk 2077 as their vision for the future, based on Mike Pondsmith's role-playing system, rather than a list of topics worth highlighting in an effort to create an exciting one. a fascinating story that could only be told in the cyberpunk universe.

All of the stories, characters and worlds that inspire us and that we love to present to the players touch on what is deeply hidden in people. Sometimes the things they touch are dark, sometimes unnamed, sometimes funny and amazing, but always timeless. We didn't start by thinking about which themes from other pieces of this genre to use in the game - it's just not our approach to storytelling in CD PROJEKT RED. We wanted to tell a compelling, compelling story that entertains and motivates players, maybe even makes them think, but above all completely engulfs them. We also wanted it to be a story that could only be told in the cyberpunk universe and not elsewhere.

The release of Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled for December 10 this year for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game will also be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X as free updates for those who bought the current generation versions.
