Demon's Souls Remake - class guide

Demon's Souls Remake - class guide

If you're looking to upgrade to Demon's Souls Remake in the next few days after the PS5 launches, you might want to know ahead of time which class you choose. This guide will guide you through the differences between the Demon's Souls classes so you can make the right decision and turn it into a beast.

Demon's Souls Remake "Class Guide"

Before we get started, however, it's worth noting that your starting class doesn't determine your destiny here. As you progress, you can switch to a different class and you can still wield other weapons and learn magic, even if your starting class doesn't support it natively.

Here's what each of these characteristics mean:

Soul level  is the level of your character, and you can increase it and spend the souls you have accumulated only after you defeat the first boss: Phalanx. Your physical defense increases with your soul level, but at the same time, so does the need for souls to reach the next level, as in a traditional RPG level system.

Intelligence  is all about magic. Higher intelligence allows you to wield more spells and have more MP (magic points) that you need to use in order to fire those spells. Certain items, such as catalysts, increase your maximum MP. To learn spells, you must have at least level 10 intelligence. Don't underestimate the spells in Demon's Souls - they can save your life.

Strength  - Strength gives a bonus to attack power, but more importantly, it also determines which weapon you can use. You can use weapons with low strength, but you cannot swing them effectively. Press the triangle to hold the weapon with both hands and you get a 50% increase in strength - useful for bastard swords and other large weapons. If you don't meet the strength requirements for a shield, you will use more stamina to block attacks with it.

Stamina  - This stat increases your stamina and allows you to ride faster with heavier equipment. Put points for each class there to make it easier for you to move. Adding points to stamina also increases fire resistance more than adding points to other stats. Stamina reaches its maximum when stamina reaches level 40.

Vitality  is your overall health and also increases the amount of equipment you can carry. Health is also affected by the World Trend, it is killed and turned into a Soul Form.

Faith  - Faith allows you to learn and store spells, reaching a maximum of four spell slots at level 36. You can raise Fatah above level 36, but this will only increase your magical defense.

Agility  - This stat measures your strength with a specific weapon - usually with a weapon rated A or S for agility. Agility also reduces the damage you take from falling.

Luck  - this parameter increases the chance of dropping items and increases resistance to the plague.

Magic  - Magic increases the damage done by magic spells and weapons.

The choice of a specific gender also affects the specific equipment you can use. Here are the things you can choose depending on your gender. In Demon's Souls Remake, you can change gender at any time.

Equipment for men only:

  • Ancient King's Armor Set.
  • Dark Silver Armor Set.
  • Venerable Sage Armor Set.
  • Shaman's set of armor.
  • Saint's armor set.

Equipment for women only:

  • Silver bracelets.
  • Dim Gold Armor Set.
  • Bound Armor Set.
  • Rogue Armor Set.
  • A set of old ragged armor.

Best Builds

Here are some of the best classes you can use as you level up and find equipment:

PvP Specialist: Warrior

  • Vitality - 40-99.
  • Intelligence - 24.
  • Endurance - 40-99.
  • Durability - 40-99.
  • Agility - 40-99.
  • Magic - 10.
  • Faith - 16.
  • Luck - 8.
This class is all about wielding weapons and dealing damage, and the only magic they use are defense spells like Warding. Pumping up some points in Magic also allows them to wield powerful magic weapons. This class is best suited for invading other players in PvP. Recommended starting class: Temple Knight.

PvE Specialist: Master Mage

  • Vitality - 8-99.
  • Intelligence - 40-99.
  • Endurance - 8.
  • Durability - 11.
  • Agility - 12.
  • Magic - 40–99
  • Faith - 16-24.
  • Luck - 8.

This class is as strong as a pure warrior, relying on deadly spells to take out enemies with AoE and ranged attacks. If you start with the Royalty class it will be easier to determine, especially if you start with the Catalyst (required to cast spells). Replace your shield with MP regeneration items and unlock the Firestorm spell from Yuria the Witch as soon as possible in the Boletar Palace. Homing arrows of the soul and rays of the soul are also your bread and butter. Use the Soulsucker spell to double the number of souls you get from enemies and level up quickly.
