 Before you even create your character in Cyberpunk 2077 , you are presented with a crucial choice. Not starting from scratch or not having lost his memory, your main character, V, has his own origin, his path. Three choices are available, Nomad, Street Kid and Corpo. What knowledge of the world V does he have, how does he understand the people and environments that you will meet, how will he react to certain situations, etc…? This will often be underlined by choices of dialogues and sometimes events specific to the chosen course, without being intrusive. Unfortunately, we will not be able to give you all the ins and outs of each course, as the game must be restarted to try everything.


  • NOMADIC

As a Nomad , you are outside of Night City, roaming the Badlands surrounding the city, rampaging and plundering whatever may be of interest. By choosing this course, you play as a Nomad who decides to leave his clan to join Night City and start a new life as a mercenary . Your first contract will have you meet Jackie Welles , a charismatic Merc, before being chased by Corpo Arasaka agents .


With this course, you will have little knowledge of the ropes of the city of Night City. On the other hand, you will be much more comfortable in the Badlands and with the members of the different nomadic clans:

In Cyberpunk 2077 , before you even create your character, you need to choose their initial path. What knowledge of the world does he have, how will he apprehend the people and environments you meet, how will he react to certain situations, etc…? This will often be underlined by choices of dialogues specific to the chosen course. As a Nomad, you are outside of Night City, roaming the Badlands surrounding the city, rampaging and plundering whatever may be of interest. NOMADIC

Start your story in a small garage in a barren village lost in the middle of the Badlands. Your car broke down as you joined your contact for your first contract allowing you to enter Night City . Follow the directions on the screen while speaking with the mechanic and enter your car to try to start it. The sheriff then arrives, making you quickly understand that he doesn't like you very much.

Once the latter is gone, roll up to the radio tower to make a call with one of the members of your former nomadic clan. It then helps you locate your contact for the contract. Go back down from the tower and drive to the small farm that your old friend has indicated to you.

You then meet Jackie Welles , your contact. After a few wary exchanges, let Jackie put the contract merchandise in the trunk and get back behind the wheel . Follow the road to the checkpoint and stop when requested by customs. As the package is suspicious, you must go to the customs room for questioning . Get out of the vehicle, enter the building, put down your weapon and go to room 2 . Speak with the customs officer and slip him a small discount so that he leaves you alone. Then return to your vehicle, remembering to retrieve your gun by the way. Jackie will be driving this time.

As you head towards Night City , agents of Arasaka are chasing you. No doubt, the customs officer sold you. Stick your head out the window and take the agents down as far as you can. After a fierce chase, you end up losing them. Speak with Jackie as you open the package to find a rare animal. Jackie then offers to team up with him as Merc . Accept to join the first mission of the game, it is forging....


  • STREET KID

As a Street Kid , you grew up in the middle of the streets of Night City, among Gangs, Fixers, etc. Your character knows the law of the strongest staying there, but also full of specifics about drugs, bars and other details swarming in the middle of the streets. Your first contract will make you meet several characters like Jackie Welles or Padre while making you walk the colorful streets of Night City.

STREET KID

You start your journey in a bar, chatting with Pepe , the bartender. The latter announces that he owes a lot of money to Kirk , a small local Fixer. Offer to fix the problem to Pepe and go talk to Kirk upstairs. The latter offers you to erase the debt by taking a dangerous job , stealing a rare car, the Rayfield , worth a lot of eddies. End up accepting and pick up the hacking module allowing you to steal the car.

Exit the bar and meet Padre , an old acquaintance, to lead you to the garage where the Rayfield is located . Speak with him during the trip and react, or not, to threats from Soldier 6th Street when he forces you to park. Then take the road to the garage and leave Padre to reach your goal.

Take the elevator to the garage and speak to your contact, Rick , to turn off the surveillance system, leaving you free to commit your theft. The Rayfield is at the back of the garage . Unlock it and climb inside. When activating the hacking module, Jackie Welles, a second Merc at the same time as you, appears and tries to stop you. No matter how you react, the NCPD eventually arrives and stops you, tackling you to the ground.

It was then that an Arasaka corpo appeared, asking the police to settle this affair discreetly, without paperwork. Stunned both, you wake up in the middle of trash cans, very happy that the NCPD has decided to leave you alive. Jackie Welles then offers you to join him as Merc . Accept to join the first mission of the game, it is forging....


  • Corporate

As a Corp , you're used to dealing in the snake nests of the tall metal and glass towers overlooking Night City . You handle the deception of the upper echelons and the traffic of information like no one in the streets of the city . You are a trusted agent of Jenkins , an important and ambitious figure in the Corpo Arasaka . The latter is enraged to have had his hair done at the pole by Susan Abernathy for a position he coveted and you will find yourself in spite of yourself in a very complicated situation.

CORPO

Unlike the other routes, you come into direct contact with Jackie Welles , the recurring Merc for the various departures. Respond to him after vomiting in the bathroom and start the discussion. With the corner becoming intrusive, exit the restroom and head to the office of Jenkins , your boss, after he calls you. Along the way, take the time to chat with your old acquaintance, Franck , if you feel like it.

From the moment you step into Jenkins' office , you can feel his cold fury. He then explains to you that Susan Abernathy has stolen the position he coveted and seeks revenge by eliminating him. While hypocritically asking you for false advice, he gives you a shard containing all the information about Susan Abernathy in order to better trap her.

Agree to help him in spite of yourself , answer Jackie again and go to the Navy garage. You can stop by the offices to read the report and respond to a request from Harry regarding a particular assignment. We don't yet know if this choice will matter later.

Make your way to the Navy garage , get into the Navy and be whisked away to Lizzie's in town to meet Jackie there and tell her about the suicide mission Jenkins has given you . This is when agents from Arasaka , your Corp, arrive to extract information from you about what Jenkins asked of you . Under duress, you end up giving them what they want with the added bonus of a dismissal and seizure of all your accounts and assets. Jackie Welles then offers you to join him as Merc . Accept to join the first mission of the game, it is forging....
