Fallout 76: Trade Guide

Vending machines for players are a great way to raise funds in  Fallout 76 . Once set up, the machines are largely automated, generating a steady income as players buy goods and the player stores them in whatever they want.

Surprisingly, setting it up and getting started is pretty easy, players just need to know what they are doing. To help aspiring entrepreneurs or those already in the market, here are some things to keep in mind when using vending machines.

Cheap Enough To Install

Cheap Enough To Install

Vending machines are surprisingly cheap to build. In the CAMP menu, the player can build one of three units of steel and three units of wood. Once assembled, it needs at least three power supplies to keep it running.

Even the simplest  CAMP  can easily set up one of the vending machines to start generating income. The resources of steel and wood are found in abundance in the world. A small generator will provide the required three powers, and its creation will cost one ceramic, two copper, two gears, two rubbers and four steel.

30 Elements at a Time

30 Elements at a Time

Once the vending machine is built, the player can store up to 30 different items in it. Almost every item in the game can be sold in a vending machine, from mindless junk obtained from  Moth-Man cultists  to legendary  weapons .

If 30 items are already up for sale, the player will have to remove one before inserting another. Items in the CAMP warehouse will be marked for sale and can be retrieved from the storage. Items cannot be stolen from the vending machine itself.

Up to Four Cars

Up to Four Cars

A player can have up to four machines running simultaneously. With 30 items in each vending machine, a player can have up to 120 items to sell at any given time.

Due to how automated the process is, there is no downside to having four machines running. Assuming a player has at least 12 strength points, he can put up a lot of items for sale and leave. Of course, keeping four vehicles in a warehouse can be tricky.

Identify Good Items To Sell

Identify Good Items To Sell

Knowing what to sell is always changing and depends a lot on the market on each specific server. Some servers may have certain items that sell very well, while another server may not ask for that item at all.

Generally speaking, there are a number of things that sell well, like ammo, stimulants, or plans. But for players who really want to make a profit quickly, it's worth doing the research. Put an item down for a few days and see how quickly it sells, see what other vendors have to offer, and look at  other players' equipment and  builds to identify popular metals.

Keep Everything In Stock

Keep Everything In Stock

Once the player has determined what items he wants to sell, the next step is to create an inventory. The player will need to find a way to get these items cheap enough to be deployed and sold at the vending machine.

The most common methods are growing or even buying from more traditional suppliers. In these cases, the player will need to devote a little time every few days to keeping their Cars in stock. Most players simply supply Machines with whatever is at hand, but this is less efficient and less profitable.

Be Close To Pedestrian Traffic

Be Close To Pedestrian Traffic

A great way to quickly sell a lot of product is to be where people are. Setting up a CAMP close to  popular destinations  ensures there is a steady stream of visitors and potential clients in the area.

Popular  farms , unique merchants, and lucrative resource areas are some of the best places to install a vending machine. It can also give an idea of the types of items that players in the area will need. For example, if it's heavy on the battlefield, it's fair to bet that ammo and stimulants will sell.

Convenience Beats Value

Convenience Beats Value

When determining what items are in stock and at what price to price them, it's important to remember that convenience is more important than value. Many players are hesitant to raise prices above average as traders think that players will skip them and go where it is cheaper.

In fact, players will be willing to spend a little more if it saves them time. For example, if a player devotes an hour to farming and does not bring in enough ammo, they are more likely to buy more expensive ammo locally than travel to a distant merchant. Sure, they could get it cheaper somewhere else, but it might be more efficient to pay more if it needs to get back to what they are doing sooner.

Tax Factor

Tax Factor

It is also important to remember when pricing items for sale that everything sold is subject to 10% sales tax. For players selling their spare items this is probably not too important, but for players looking for items to sell it can be a problem.

For example, if a player bought several stimulants from a merchant and traveled to a distant place where there is a lot of fighting in order to sell them, it is important to perform mathematical calculations to determine the selling price. The sale must cover the purchase price of the item, 10% tax, and any profit they hope to make from each unit sold.

Remember Limit

Remember Limit

Apart from the 10% tax, another obstacle to selling goods through vending machines is the cap on profits. Once the player has earned $ 25K in limits, all future transactions will earn $ 0.

It is admittedly a lot of money in the game to do interesting things like  launching nuclear weapons , but it's important to remember when the player is heavily using vending machines. It is important that the player clean their vending machines after hitting the cap, otherwise they will lose these items if a sale occurs.

Can Make Great Bait

Can Make Great Bait

Once you hit the limit and could no longer make money, many players make the mistake of giving up on vending machines. For more sparkling players, there is an interesting use of vending machines after reaching the maximum value.

Players can use them as bait to lure players to a specific location. It can be used as bait for a trap, ambush or general trolling. With the right setup, players can make a lot of money by luring other players with vending machines, killing them with traps, and then looting bodies.
