Flight Simulator : how to fly in a shared cockpit? Presentation of the "Your Controls" software

Microsoft Flight Simulator has only been available for a few months and never has a community been so prolific and ingenious in the field of video games with the creation of thousands of add-ons for the title already available. Asobo's game offers the simulation of all kinds of planes in an ultra realistic way; however, by default, the latter are piloted alone, whereas in real life, it often takes a multiple crew to operate the aircraft in good conditions.

Your Controls is free software that allows you to get on another player's plane to help them with their various tasks. This can range from piloting itself to using the various on-board instruments. This can go a long way to helping the more cautious users to experience the game with an experienced pilot in the same plane.

At the moment, only a few planes are available, but the authors still offer support for the Airbus A320 modified version of FlyByWire (stable or development). Here is the list of compatible planes:

  • FBW A32NX Stable + Dev
  • Cessna 152
  • Cessna 172 G1000
  • Diamond DA40
  • Diamond DA62
  • Pitts Special S2S
  • TBM 930
  • XCub

The software is constantly being improved and eventually other planes will be compatible. In a few clicks, find yourself on a friend's plane to travel the world.

The software is very intuitive and can be installed very simply via the instructions available via this address . You will simply have to open port 7777 (by default), via the settings of your box or via UPnP and give your IP to your co-pilot so that he can join your device. Be careful, only communicate your IP address to people you trust . Note that Microsoft and Asobo are also working on this type of feature which should be offered for free and natively in the simulator soon. No date is however announced.
