LoL: This is how the new event "Star Guardian" works and these skins are available

The Star Guardian event is currently running in League of Legends. You can complete special missions and buy special skins. We at Okaygotcha will tell you everything you need to know about the event.

What kind of event is that? Star Guardian began in late November and will run through December 16 at 10:00 PM. During this time you can complete special missions for which there are rewards.

There are also new Star Guardian Skins that you can purchase for Riot Points in this time slot, including a Prestige Skin for Soraka, which is featured in this video on YouTube:

The Essence Wonderland is also running parallel to this event, where you even get skins and other rewards for in-game currency. You can find out more about the Essence Wonderland in this article .

The new missions and their rewards

What kind of missions are these? With the new missions you have 3 possible goals each of which you have to achieve one. In case of doubt, each mission can also be completed by simply winning 10 games. In the long run, this will be very time-consuming, as you have to complete the tasks by December 16.

Blue essences, Hextech keys and Hextech chests await as rewards:

Team 1: Shine

Win 3 games as Lux or Jinx - or - Get 75 kills / assists - or - Play 10 games

250 blue essences

Team 2: The old guard

Win 3 games as Ahri or Soraka - or - kill 12 dragons with your team - or - play 10 games

Mysterious sticker

Team 3: The Twilight Star

Win 3 games as Xayah, Rakan or Neeko - or - Destroy the first building 4 times with your team - or - Play 10 games

250 blue essences + Hextech key

The future can only get better

Win 1 game with a Star Guardian Skin - or - Kill 2 Barons with your team - or - Play 7 games

Hextech chest

Above all, you have to complete the missions in Summoner's Rift or in ARAM. Only the 10 games per mission will work in Teamfight Tactics.

From December 4th at 10:00 p.m., a special mission will also be unlocked through which you can unlock the DAMWON gaming champion symbol. We will add more details.

What else is there for free? Via the Star Guardian Capsules 2020 - a content from the Hextech chests - you can receive 3 random skin splitters as usual. What is new, however, is that you have a 4% chance of getting an Interstellar surprise bag.

The Interstellar Lucky Bag increases your chance of a gem and mythical skin by 1.5 times and contains one of the following items:

  • 5 Interstellar Skin Shards (60% chance)  OR
  • 7 random skin shards (25% chance)  OR
  • 10 Interstellar Skin Shards (15% chance)

You can use the splinters and gemstones to unlock skins for free.

10 new skins and chromas, as well as new symbols and icons
What new skins are there? The event will introduce a total of 10 new skins, one of which is a prestige skin, for which you have to invest additional prestige points. The following skins are available:

  • Star Guardian Soraka (Prestige Edition) - 100 Prestige Points
  • Cosmic Hunter Varus - 1350 RP
  • Cosmic Wings Anivia - 1350 RP
  • Cosmic Warhorse Hecarim - 1350 RP
  • Cosmic Devourer Vladimir - 1350 RP
  • Cosmic Summoner Illaoi - 1350 RP
  • Cosmic Huntress Nidalee - 1350 RP
  • Cosmic Fate Nami - 1350 RP
  • Cosmic Stinger Skarner - 1350 RP
  • Cosmic Annihilator Lissandra - 1350 RP

What else is there in the shop? In addition to the skins, there are new icons, chromas, symbols and stickers. For the full list, check out the Riot Games official blog post.

Overall, Star Guardian is a bit smaller than previous events such as Spirit Blossom or PsyOps. There were either stories around it or hidden new content that you could unlock.

But you can look forward to a new champion in the coming week, which will be released with patch 10.25.
