Pokémon GO Guide: Shimmering Distraction for Shiny Celebi

 In Pokémon GO there is Shiny Celebi through the special research "A Shimmering Distraction". We'll show you all the tasks and rewards here in the guide.

What kind of research is this? In cooperation with the Pokémon film "Secrets of the Jungle", Pokémon GO started an event around Jessie, James and Shiny Celebi .

If you play Pokémon GO now, you will notice new spawns in the wild, changed raid bosses and a new special research for you. The research "A Shimmering Distraction" is limited in time, according to Niantic, but the expiration date is still unknown.

The research consists of four chapters. We'll show you every step that you should take and every reward you get for it.

Shimmering distraction 1/4

Task	Reward
Send 10 Pokémon	20 hyperballs
Catch 10 Plant- Type Pokémon	Meeting with Blanas
Evolve 3 Plant- Type Pokémon	Encounter with Waumboll

 

Level reward : If you successfully complete all three tasks in this chapter, you will receive 500 stardust, 1,000 XP and an encounter with Digda.

Shimmering distraction 2/4

Task	Reward
Play 10 times with your buddy	1 Knursp
Take a snapshot with a Plant Pokémon	Encounter with wadribie
Give your buddy 10 snacks	Encounter with Kikugi

 

Level reward : If you successfully complete all three tasks in this chapter, you will receive 500 stardust, 1,000 XP and an encounter with Pinsir.

Shimmering distraction 3/4

Task	Reward
Defeat Jessie or James 4x	5 top revitalizers
Get 5 great curveball throws	Encounter with Hoothoot
Hatch 3 eggs	Encounter with Elfun

 

Level reward : If you successfully complete all three tasks in this chapter, you will receive 500 stardust, 1,000 XP and an encounter with Vibrava.

Update 12:14 p.m.: As it turns out, the Meowth balloons with Jessie and James are rarely found in the game. Niantic may adjust the frequency of this encounter. It just seems to happen by chance whether you come across a rowdy balloon from Team GO Rocket or a meowth balloon appears.
