The company, which sells bespoke black PS2-style versions of Sony's PlayStation 5 consoles, canceled all orders after its employees allegedly received threats.
SUP3R5, which is not affiliated with Sony, posted a message yesterday on its already deleted Twitter account that its "The team began to receive real threats," which resulted in canceling all orders for more than 300 units of products that were reportedly already sold out. Black boxes sold for $ 650 and $ 750 for diskless and disk versions, respectively.
The hype around the PS5 has allegedly led to a series of backorders and, as a result, many disgruntled American customers.
“We are serious about these threats and therefore are canceling all orders with a full refund,” the company said, although some customers say they have not yet received a refund.
The hunt for PS5 has become a real nightmare for many. Store websites collapsed due to demand, or their inventory was bought up by bots in a matter of seconds for subsequent resale at a significantly inflated price.
