IN Valheim has both single-player and co-op. Playing together with friends adds excitement and joy to exploring the vast land of the Vikings. But since the game is in Early Access, many technical issues have yet to be resolved in a way that is intuitive. Check out our guide if you want to know how to play Valheim co-op.
It's worth starting with character creation. It makes sense that everyone you play with should have characters. Note that one of you must create a server as well . The process is not easy and can take time, so you need to prepare for a joint game in advance. You can immediately connect to one of the ready-made servers on the list, this way you can save a lot of time, however, the game, besides you and your friends, will also contain unfamiliar players.
Then make sure you create a world. The game itself will prompt you to choose a name for the world and show the seed ID, so you are unlikely to miss this point. You don't need a cid, focus on the world. This is important, because it is the name that must be registered in the server settings, of course, if it is you who will create it. Therefore, come up with something personal and memorable so that your friends can easily find it in their search for worlds.
Add the password to the server and select the Community Server option. Please note that a password is more than just protection from third-party players. Without it, the server will not work normally, at least some players have mentioned this problem.
Once everything is done, you will see an opening cutscene where the crow will take you into the game, and then your friend can find the server in the list of shared servers and enter the password to join.
Thus, the order of your actions will be something like this:
- Create a character;
- Create a world;
- Create and configure a server, or connect to a ready-made one (if you do this, the following steps are not needed);
- Come up with a password;
- Select the "Shared Server" option.
