iPhone: So you delete contacts

  1. Opens the Contacts app on the iPhone.
  2. Tap on the contact you want to delete.
  3. Tap on " Edit ".
  4. Scroll down and tap on " Delete contact ".
  5. Confirm again with " Delete contact ".

What happens when you delete it? If the iPhone is connected to the iCloud, the entry will also be deleted there. So the change affects all devices that are linked to the iCloud.


Delete multiple contacts from iPhone

There is no method on iPhone to delete multiple contacts at once. This is how it works anyway:

  1. Download the " Groups " app from the App Store and install it.
  2. Open the app and allow access to your contacts.
  3. Tap on “ All Contacts ” to see all contacts.
  4. Mark all contacts you want to delete with a red check mark.
  5. Select “ Choose Action ”.
  6. Tap “ Delete Contacts ” and confirm the action.

Remove duplicates: After "Choose Action" you can also find duplicate contact entries and have them deleted.


Delete all contacts from iPhone

If you want to delete all contacts from the iPhone at once, you can do this directly in the iPhone settings:

  1. Open the  settings  and select your Apple ID .
  2. Tap on " iCloud ".
  3. Deactivates the switch under " Contacts ".
  4. Then select " Delete from iPhone ".

Alternatively, you can also delete all contacts in the Groups app mentioned above. 

iPhone: Contacts cannot be deleted

If your iPhone gets the contact's information from another source like Facebook, there is no option to delete the contact. In that case, you should go to the respective source (such as the Facebook website) to delete the corresponding contact there. The changes would then also affect the iPhone.
