An ICS file contains calendar entries and other data. You can easily open them with the right program. We'll show you how to do it here at OkayGotcha.
What is an ICS file?
The file extension "ICS" stands for " I nternet C alendar S cheduling" and is a universal format for calendar data.
Open or import ICS file
Import:
- You can import ICS files in the calendar function of Windows 10 , Outlook , Google Calendar or "Thunderbird Lightning". The calendar entries will then be displayed in the respective calendars.
- This is how it works in the Google calendar on the PC: Click on the gear symbol in the top right corner and select " Settings ". Click on " Import & Export " in the menu on the left and click on " Select file from my computer " on the right . Select the ICS file and confirm to integrate the data from the file into your calendar.
- Alternatively, you can open ICS files with another program.
To open:
- The Apple program iCal can open ICS files.
- Alternatively, you can use the Outlook program in Windows . To do this, click on " Import " under " Options ".
