If you want to deposit your bank account with PayPal, you have to confirm your bank account for security reasons. This proves that you really are the owner of the specified bank account. We'll show you how to do this here at OkayGotcha.

PayPal: This is how you confirm your bank account

1. After you have added a bank account to PayPal , you will receive an amount of EUR 0.01 within 3 to 4 working days. In the intended use there is a 4-digit code in the format: PP.1234.PP.
2. Log in to your PayPal account .
3. In the account overview click on " Don't forget " and on " Confirm bank account ".
4. If you do not see these points, switch to the " E-Exchange " page and click on the option to confirm your bank account .
5. Now enter the amount and the code that PayPal transferred you.
6. You can then use your bank account to pay for online purchases via PayPal.

Where does PayPal send my bank account verification code?

PayPal sends you a small transfer of one or a few cents. In the purpose of this transfer, the necessary PayPal code is given, which you need to confirm your bank account with PayPal.

How can I confirm my bank account with PayPal?

Open the “ E-Exchange ” page on PayPal , select the desired bank account and click on “ Confirm ”. After entering the data, the account is confirmed and you can use the PayPal account with all its functions. 

Can I use PayPal without confirming the bank account?

Yes. However, you then have to top up your PayPal balance beforehand so that you can pay via PayPal. For example, you can transfer a certain amount to your PayPal account via online banking.
