Rumors that Dying Light 2's developer, Techland, is a potential target for the upcoming acquisition, appears to be greatly exaggerated. According to the studio's community manager, Techland is still an independent company and has not yet been acquired by any other publisher.
Regarding the potential Microsoft acquisition, Techland Community Manager Uncy tweeted: “A year ago, there was the same rumor on the Internet and the situation has not changed. Techland is an independent studio and has not been acquired by another publisher. "
I'm getting a lot of dm's about Dying Light acquisition so I'll answer here:

There was the same rumour floating around the internet one year ago and the situation didn't change - Techland is an independent studio and it was not acquired by another publisher (:
News of a potential Techland acquisition came at a time when acquisition rumors had been circulating for months. Just a few weeks ago, a major new report emerged that said that many publishers such as Xbox, PlayStation, Electronic Arts and Amazon have been looking for various independent studios lately. Given that Techland is a well-known indie company, it makes sense that they became one of the companies in the rumor factory.
At this point, all we really know for sure about Techland is that they are working hard on Dying Light 2 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One and PC.Â
