Will It Takes Two be out on Nintendo Switch?

New platformer It Takes Two , published by Electronic Arts, has already garnered a lot of accolades. An intriguing project, created for a joint passage, captivates not with revolutionary graphics, but with a completely new approach to gameplay. As expected, the game was announced for all current platforms. Everything except Nintendo Switch. Players have had a lot of questions regarding the release of It Takes Two on Nintendo's handheld console. In this post, we'll share everything we know about It Takes Two coming out on Switch.

Switch is the least powerful current generation console on the market. Quite a few games do not come out on it, since porting everything without compromising graphics and gameplay is extremely difficult, and sometimes impossible. However, in the case of It Takes Two, it was not the graphics, but the mechanics that became the main stumbling block.

There are currently no officially announced plans to launch the game on Switch.

It Takes Two, of course, is not such a demanding game as any Assassin's Creed or Call of Duty, and it would seem that there should be no problems with access to absolutely all platforms.

The culprit was the cooperative. The game runs in split screen mode throughout most of the playthrough. This puts a heavy load on the platform. And while it's easy to start up on PS4 or Xbox Series X / S, the Switch struggles to cope with the responsiveness in split-screen mode.

The head of Hazelight Studios, Josef Fares, bluntly said in an interview:

No, we have no plans to release the game on Nintendo Switch. People forget that we make split-screen games with tons of action. It is difficult to keep the game running smoothly on legacy consoles, and not on Switch at all.

It looks like It Takes Two will only release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC. Don't expect a Nintendo Switch release anytime soon, if ever.
