WoW is increasing subscription prices in several countries

In some countries, the cost of subscribing to World of Warcraft has increased dramatically. Now players fear that the costs will rise here too.

World of Warcraft is one of the few games that is still on a subscription model even after 15 years. If you want to play, you have to pay for the playing time. For some players, the price is what puts them off at WoW. WoW is now increasing subscription costs in several countries.

What happened? In the last few days there have been some reports of changes to the sales models of Spielzeit at Blizzard. Some countries are affected by drastic increases in prices, especially with regard to the subscription to World of Warcraft. So far there have been drastic price increases in Russia and Brazil:

  • In Russia, subscription costs for monthly payments increase by 18%.
  • The longest subscription (6 months) will be 30% more expensive in Russia.
  • In Brazil, subscription costs for monthly payments increase by 25%.
  • The longest subscription (6 months) is 34% more expensive in Brazil.

At the same time, Blizzard lowers the costs of additional services, such as character renaming or server transfer, a little.

However, one should note: Almost all players have to pay monthly subscription costs, the additional services are only interesting for a fraction of the players. So a lot of people are asked to pay more.

More cash for Blizzard - subscription costs increase.
