Dragon Ball - Akira Toriyama reveals his inspiration for the Turtle School uniform

The curiosities of the world of Dragon Ball do not stop happening. If yesterday we told you that Bardock was originally planned to be Kakarot's enemy , today we bring you another endearing detail from the original work, this time focused on the origins of the series and Goku's mythical combat uniform . Do you know all the secrets of this timeless suit?

About a year ago, we published that Akira Toriyama had thought about the yellow color for the Tortuga School uniform , although finally he opted for another chromatic base. In any case, where does all this inspiration come from? What was the mangaka based on to give birth to this uniform?

As confirmed in an interview for the Full Color edition of the Dragon Ball manga , Akira Toriyama was inspired by the clothes Chinese monks wear during their training (something that came from pearls after the severe training that Krillin and Goku underwent under the tutelage of Mutenroshi ). And why did you choose the color orange?

According to Chinese culture, the orange color of the garments is a symbol of good omen, so it was the perfect color choice for the pair of two and its premiere at the 21st Great Martial Arts Tournament . Of course, this uniform was red in the first bars of the anime and we also saw it reddish in some pages of the original manga, but it was made clear that the color should be orange, as we appreciated in the last revision of the manga.
