Dragon Ball Z - Bardock was going to be Goku's enemy at first

 

The curiosities related to the world of Dragon Ball will never cease to amaze us, and today we bring you something that is surely unknown to much of the fandom. Do you like the character of Bardock , the mythical father of Kakarot ? Well, pay attention, that the story could have been very, very different... 

As you all know, Son Goku's father , Bardock, showed off in his Dragon Ball Z TV special entitled The Last Combat in Spain . We would dare to say that it was one of the most consumed VHS videotapes of the 90s in our country, right? At least among fans of the series.

Well, in the Japanese Daizenshuu encyclopedia , specifically in part 3 of the animation analysis (unpublished abroad), something really interesting was revealed. On the one hand, they comment on the origin of the Bardock special, and it is that of course, they needed to delve a little deeper into Goku's roots and decided that his father should make an appearance, but that's not the best ...

The Toei Animation studio originally planned for Goku and Bardock to be enemies and fight a duel! Finally, that idea that was put on the table was eliminated, but they took it into account for the character. How do you stay? Interestingly, this idea was later recovered in video games like Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit , where in Story mode we see Bardock face his son in the final duel.
