An open beta version of the multiplayer game for American Truck Simulator is already available

An experimental open beta version of a multiplayer game for American Truck Simulator has become available . The multiplayer update introduces a new Convoy mode that allows players to host their own private sessions with friends and fellow drivers.

Currently, Convoy mode supports synchronized AI traffic, the ability to do the same work as other players, and the time and weather. Players will also have the option to restore their game progress to their previous game state if they weren't happy with what happened to their truck, cargo or wallet during their Convoy session.

For now, players will be able to create private sessions for up to 8 people, fulfill the same contracts and transport cargo together and to the same location. There is also the option to communicate via the CB radio using the X key or by using quick replies using the Q key and text chat using the Y key.

To unlock the patch, you need to go to Steam and right click on American Truck Simulator in your game library. Then you need to go to properties and select the Betas tab and then paste XZo2orrgbG92XMQ into a small window. After that, you can try the new branch.

Since this is a beta version, it is recommended that you back up your profiles or use a new one because this patch will make your profile incompatible with the non-beta version of the game, so be careful if you want to try Convoy mode and then want to go back to the main game.
