Since the release, the game has received large-scale updates and the developers have fixed thousands of bugs, but the famous stripes on the monitor screen during the gameplay still do not want to disappear. How to remove horizontal black bars in Skyrim
One of the common problems in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is the black bars that appear from the first splash screen. This problem may be related to both the video card drivers and the incompatibility of the game with your operating system. Therefore, before further advice, try running the game on new drivers or a newly installed Windows.
- Try switching the game to another program using the Atl + Tab key combination. If the problem persists, then move on.
- Disable Vsync through the game launcher.
- Disable in the graphics settings - detailing of the sun's rays (old launcher), lighting (new launcher). If the problem remains, then we proceed to radical methods.
- Disable vertical sync at the driver level.
- For Nvidia: Open the Nvidia Control Panel, then select Manage 3D Settings and click on the Program Settings tab. Select the Skyrim.exe process and at the bottom find the Vertical Sync Pulse tab. Choose "Off" and click "Accept" in the lower right corner. For ATI / AMD: Open AMD Catalyst, then select the Games, 3D Application Settings tab. Click on the Add icon and select Skyrim.exe. Next, look for the "Wait for vertical update" tab and select "Turn off if not specified by the application".
- Open the game folder and change the FixLag to false in the enblocal.ini file. If this file is missing, try installing any ENB modification.
How to remove bars around the edges of the screen in Skyrim
- Find the Skyrimprefs.ini file in the game folder. We open it through the administrator and look for the line "bFull Screen", add = 0 next to it and save the file.
- If you have an ENB modification, then in the game folder find the ENB ini file and add false in it opposite the phrase "ForceBorderless".
- If you have the ENB modification Poupouri ENBs, then open the SkyrimPrefs.ini file and in the [Display] section, before the line “#define ENABLE_LETTERBOX_BARS // Enable cinematic bars (black bars at top and bottom) - DNI SEPARATED” set .
