Stalactites in Minecraft Cliffs and Caves: how they are used and where to find them

We show you some utilities of stalactites in Minecraft Cliff and Caves, the expansion that takes Mojang's game to the highest mountains.

Minecraft is one of the games with the widest range of possibilities on all platforms , and every day it brings together millions of users. Mojang created a real monster in 2009, and with the support of Microsoft it has managed to become one of the most important video games in history .

The Cliff and Caves expansion takes Minecraft players to the highest mountains, where we can explore caverns, be attacked by goats, swim with the glowing squid or build new objects and items with all kinds of rocks.

One of the great novelties are the stalactites, which we can find in the caves and caverns of Minecraft . Thanks to these we can make different objects, as well as other utilities that we will describe below.

Do you want to know how to use the stalactites in the title of Mojang? Then stay with us and discover Stalactites in Minecraft Cliffs and Caves: how they are used and where to find them .

Stalactites in Minecraft Cliff and Caves: how they are used and where to find them

Stalactites are one of the great novelties of Minecraft Cliff and Caves , an expansion that you can enjoy in Mojang's game . We know you love exploring, and this content will give you hours of fun, farming and building.

These delicate stones hang from the caverns and caves of Minecraft , so to get them you have to enter these scenarios. Collecting them allows you to build different exclusive structures , and in particular we are going to explain three uses of them.

Stalactites in Minecraft Cliff and Caves: how they are used and where to find them

First we have the stalactite block , also known as the Dripstone Block . To build this structure we have to collect four-pointed stalactites , a specific type of these rocks. Be careful, because they are very delicate, but it is certainly worth it to build this beautiful decorative object.

Another interesting option is the Pointed Dripstone , but to build it you must know that stalactites are dangerous. Not only do they hurt if they fall on us, but they can drip water or lava , plus you can damage them with the pitchfork if you don't do it carefully. This is what you should know about this structure :

  • Forms a stalactite if placed on the ceiling or a stalagmite if placed on the ground
  • It can be combined to form longer stalactites and stalagmites.
  • Stalactites and stalagmites fuse if the tips are next to each other, unless you press Shift while placing them.
  • Stalagmites will break if they are not attached to something underneath
  • Landing or jumping on a stalagmite hurts They are sharp
  • Stalactites fall if they are not attached to something above
  • Getting hit by a falling stalactite hurts
  • Stalactites drip water (or lava if there is lava on the ceiling)
  • A stalactite with a fountain of water on the roof will gradually fill a cauldron from below with water.
  • A stalactite with a lava fountain on the roof will fill a cauldron with lava after a while.
  • Thrown pitchforks break pointed drip stone

Finally we have the Dripstone Growth , or '' hatchery '' of stalactites, which will require a lot of patience in Minecraft. Growing this type of rock takes a long time, maybe even days , although we assure you that it will be worth it. These are the characteristics of Dripstone Growth :

  • If a stalactite hangs from a drip block with a source of water above it, both the stalactite from above and a stalagmite from below will slowly grow.
  • The growth speed is random but very slow, a single growth step can take several days of Minecraft
  • A stalactite will only grow up to seven blocks long
  • A stalactite will only cause stalagmite growth if the floor or stalagmite below is within 10 blocks
  • If the tip of the stalactite is in the water, it will not drip and therefore will not cause any growth.
  • If the tip of the stalagmite is in the water, it will not receive drops and therefore will not grow with a dripping stalactite. The same if there is any liquid between the two tips.
  • A stalagmite or stalactite will never turn into a fluid
