Todd Howard: "The Elder Scrolls VI is still in the design stage"

According to Todd Howard, although The Elder Scrolls VI was announced three years ago, it still hasn't gone through the design stage.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Howard revealed that the sixth core of The Elder Scrolls series is still in the design stage. However, developers are also researching technology to make sure the engine can handle the game properly. The Elder Scrolls VI will be powered by the Creation Engine 2 , which was also built for Bethesda's next big RPG, Starfield .

Creation Engine 2 was created for both Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI. It's like a new technical base. The vast majority of our development is now at Starfield, but everyone is working on everything, so the projects seem to intertwine. The Elder Scrolls 6 is still in the design stage, but we are testing if the engine can handle what we want to do in this game. Each game will have several new technology packs, so Elder Scrolls 6 will have some additions to Creation Engine 2 that will be required.
