id Software has announced that it is currently working on a single-player horde mode for Doom Eternal . As executive producer Marty Stratton said, the team is reorienting itself and will no longer work on the promised Invasion regime. Instead, the focus will now be on the single-player horde and BATTLEMODE.
Stratton believes that Horde Mode will offer players more variety. BATTLEMODE will also receive a more competitive rank-based structure. She will also receive a number of gameplay and balance updates, as well as another new map.
id Software will share more details on the next major patch for Doom Eternal at QuakeCon 2021 in August.
