Also in WoW: Shadowlands can be flown from today. We reveal how you unlock flying in the current WoW addon.
After more than half a year of waiting, the big day has finally come. In World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, players can also jump onto their flight mounts and explore the four large areas from the air - at least when flying has been unlocked. This is possible from today (June 7th, 2021) and we reveal what you have to do for it in Patch 9.1 Chains of Dominion.
Which requirements have to be met? In order for you to be able to unlock flying today, you must have at least completed the original pact campaign with the corresponding character. That is the basic requirement that you cannot avoid. Then you have to take care of the following things:
- Reach fame level 44: If you played last week, you are now at fame level 42. Again, collect 1,000 anima for your sanctum and complete the Korthia quest "Shaping Fate". This can take a while, just kill rare enemies, complete the daily quests, and play the new attack in the Maw. Completing these two missions will bring you to Fame Level 44.
- Play new pact chapter: At fame level 44 you unlock the next chapter of the pact campaign called "The Last Seal". Also play this chapter all the way to the end. Just follow the course of the quest, then you can't miss anything.
As soon as you have done that, you will receive the item "Memories of the Sunless Sky".
Use it - and bang! You unlocked Flies in the Shadowlands!
Flying in Shadowlands - Where can you do it?
Then who can fly anything? If you have activated the ability to fly on a character, this automatically applies to your entire account. From then on, all characters can fly in the four main areas of the Shadowlands. This also applies to characters below level 60 who are still in the level phase. So you can take off from level 50 in the Shadowlands and drastically shorten many time-consuming tasks.
Where can you fly anywhere? Flying is basically possible in all areas of the four pacts. These are:
- Bastion (kyrians)
- Maldraxxus (Necrolords)
- Ardenwald (Nachtfae)
- Revendreth (Venthyr)
What's the point of flying in the Shadowlands? Basically, above all, time savings. Most activities are simply much faster with a flight mount, as more distance can be covered in a short time and obstacles can simply be flown over. You are more effective if you:
- Twinks levels and can fly straight to the mission objectives
- Complete world quests, for example to farm anima
- Farms herbs and ores to collect materials for professions or sales
