Which Legendary should I craft in WoW Shadowlands? Overview for all classes

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands brings back the most powerful item in the game: Legendarys. With the current patch 9.1, the portfolio of available effects has been expanded. We will tell you which Legendary is best for which class.

What are legendarys? Legendary equipment items have special properties that can improve your skills or even change the way you play. Legendarys are the most powerful items in the game.

In Legion, you still had to hope for chance to get the right Legendary for your specialization. In Shadowlands you can easily create them with the properties you want.

However, the manufacturing process is very complex and the upgrades of the Legendarys take even longer. With patch 9.1 “Chains of Dominion” you can upgrade the Legendarys even further - the first stages are faster.

Update from July 2, 2021: Since patch 9.1 went live on June 30, there are new legendary effects for every class and every pact, as well as new ways to forge Legendarys for different equipment slots. We have brought the list up to date with the new "BiS" effects and the best slots accordingly.

We took a look at the experts from wowhead, Icy Veins and in the individual discords of the classes and put together a list for you of the best Legendarys for each class and specialization, including the locations where you can find the ability (via wowhead.com and icy-veins.com )

Changes to Legendarys in Patch 9.1

  • The new maximum level for Legendarys is now 6 (previously 4)
  • There is now significantly more soul ash in Torghast, so that earlier levels can be upgraded more quickly
  • New crafting materials are available for higher basic items and for upgrading
  • New legendary effects can be unlocked with the pacts at higher fame levels

Many legendary effects also now have additional items that they can be incorporated into. Since patch 9.1 some equipment items from the “Sanctum of Dominion” raid have special sockets, the slot on which you should wear your Legendary has been shifted.

Making Legendarys - Short Guide

How to make Legendarys: We already have a detailed guide on how to make Legendarys for you. We have summarized the short version for you here. If you want to make Legendarys, you will need some materials:

  • a legendary basic armor from the manufacturing professions
  • Soul ash from Torghast or from adventures on the mission table
  • There are embers of the soul in Torghast from level 9 (new with patch 9.1)
  • Fonts for secondary values
  • the corresponding reminder for the runic mason

Where can I get the effects? You will receive the memories during certain activities. We have added the respective source directly to the individual Legendarys. You must take the memory to the runecutter in Torghast. From then on you have it permanently.

Some memories, such as those from Torghast, are harder or simply not always to be preserved. Others, such as those from dungeons, are easier to find, especially since there is no longer a daily ban on heroic dungeons .
