The game does not start, the gamepad does not work, the sound wheezes, the "Not enough memory" error, and more


Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a fresh take on a thrilling shooter based on James Cameron's Aliens. Opinions about the game were divided, but if you engage in the extermination of xenomorphs in the company of a couple of friends, then the vigorous gameplay redeems everything.


There were not so many bugs at the start of the new product. But we've put together solutions for the most common technical problems with Aliens: Fireteam Elite.


What computer do you need for the Aliens: Fireteam Elite (system requirements)?

We studied the tests of the game on different hardware in different resolutions and came to the conclusion that the official system requirements are not far from the truth. But they lack recommendations for playing at 1440p and 4K - we added them based on the tests we studied.


Official minimum system requirements (1080p @ 30 FPS, low preset):

  • Operating system: Windows 10 (64-bit only!).
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K / AMD Athlon X4 950
  • Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 (4 GB) / AMD Radeon R9 285 (4 GB).
  • RAM: 8 gigabytes.

Official Recommended System Requirements (1080p @ 60 FPS, High Preset):

  • Operating system: Windows 10 x64.
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-7400 / AMD Ryzen 5 1600.
  • Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (GB) / AMD Radeon RX 480 (8 GB).
  • RAM: 16 gigabytes.

For playing at 1440p @ 30 FPS, high. preset (according to tests):

  • Operating system: Windows 10 x64.
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-7400 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200.
  • Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 / AMD Radeon RX 580.
  • RAM: 16 gigabytes.

For playing at 1440p @ 60 FPS, high. preset (according to tests):

  • Operating system: Windows 10 x64.
  • Processor: Intel Core i3-8100 / AMD Ryzen 3 2200G.
  • Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT.
  • RAM: 16 gigabytes.

For 4K @ 30 FPS, hi. preset (according to tests):

  • Operating system: Windows 10 x64.
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-9400 / AMD Ryzen 5 3500X.
  • Video card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 / AMD Radeon RX 5700.
  • RAM: 16 gigabytes.

For 4K @ 60 FPS gameplay, high. preset (according to tests):

  • Operating system: Windows 10 x64.
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-9600K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X.
  • Video card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 / AMD Radeon RX 6800.
  • RAM: 16 gigabytes.


Aliens: Fireteam Elite won't start on Windows 7


Aliens: Fireteam Elite won't start / freezes on startup / black screen

Check the integrity of the game files:

  1. start Steam ;
  2. go to the "Library" section ;
  3. Click RMB on the name of the game ( Aliens: Fireteam Elite ) in the list on the left and open the properties ;
  4. in the "Local files" tab, click "Check the integrity of game files" ;
  5. wait for the process to complete.

Out of memory error in Aliens: Fireteam Elite

Your PC is out of RAM. The best solution is to increase the amount of RAM to at least 8 gigabytes. Increasing the paging file probably won't help. Also, be sure to close your browser before launching any game. Especially if it has a large number of open tabs.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite crashes

  1. Disable all programs running in the background.
  2. If it does not help, then check your computer for viruses.
  3. A complete reinstallation of the game can also help.


Resolution does not change in Aliens: Fireteam Elite

This error can occur if screen scaling is enabled on Windows. You can compensate for this as follows:

  1. Find the Endeavor.exe file in the game folder.
  2. Go to properties and go to the "Compatibility" tab .
  3. Click the Change High DPI Settings button .
  4. In the option "Override scaling mode ..." select "Application" .

Error 0xc0000001 / 0xc0000005 in Aliens: Fireteam Elite

This is a problem with Windows system files. Some of them can be damaged. Perform a system restore or reinstall Windows. To check and repair corrupted system files, open a command prompt and enter the command "sfc / scannow" (without quotes).

Reinstall or update your graphics card drivers. It is advisable to do a clean install to reset unsuccessful settings.

Update your graphics card drivers

Visit the video card manufacturer's website:

  • NVIDIA GeForce . The site itself will select the appropriate drivers. Just hit Search and then Download Now . After the download is complete, run the downloaded file and follow the instructions of the installer.
  • AMD Radeon . Scroll down to Search for your produc t and select your graphics card in the Graphics section. Click the "Submit" button. On the page that opens, click LMB on your version of Windows and click "Download" . When the download is complete, run the downloaded file and follow the instructions of the installer.
Important: Be sure to restart your computer after updating your drivers.


Enable high performance for your graphics card

For NVIDIA GeForce owners:


  1. Open the NVIDIA Control Panel by right- clicking on the desktop.
  2. Select Manage 3D Settings from the list on the left.
  3. Switch to the Software Settings tab in the main part of the screen and select Aliens: Fireteam Elite from the drop-down list under “1. Select a program to configure ” (if the game is not in the list, then add the corresponding button next to it).
  4. In the list below, find the Power Management Mode function and switch it to Maximum Performance Mode Preferred .

For AMD Radeon and AMD processor owners:

  1. Open Radeon Settings by right- clicking on the desktop.
  2. Go to the "System" section .
  3. In the "Switchable Graphics" category , set the "Maximum Performance" graphics card as the main one.
  4. Click “Accept” .

How to adjust graphics in Aliens: Fireteam Elite / how to increase FPS (frame rate)

Optimal settings for a weak PC , close to the minimum system requirements:

  • Windowed mode: full screen.
  • Resolution: 1920x1080.
  • Motion blur: to your taste.
  • Frame rate limit lock: 30.
  • Sharpen the image: enable.
  • Shadow quality: low.
  • Resolution scale: 100.
  • Texture quality: average.
  • Chromatic aberration: to your taste.
  • Anti-aliasing quality: 4.
  • Diffuse Shading: Disable.
  • Screen Space Reflections: Disable.
  • Vertical sync: enable.

Aliens Audio Issues: Fireteam Elite / Sound Clicks / Audio Wheezes

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel.
  2. Go to the Hardware and Sound section .
  3. Open your sound settings .
  4. Select the default device (there should be a green checkmark next to it) and go to its properties with the button below.
  5. In the "Advanced" tab, select the default format "24 bit, 48000 Hz" .
  6. If it does not help, then lower it to "16 bit, 44100 Hz" .

Aliens: Fireteam Elite has stopped working / error "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG"

Perhaps the problem is overheating of the video card. Check to see if the fans of her cooling system are blocked by adjacent wires. If everything is in order with this, then try resetting the overclocking: go to the MSI Afterburner application and press the Reset button (if such a program is not installed, then the video card most likely did not overclock).

Gamepad (joystick) does not work in Aliens: Fireteam Elite

  1. Remove the device in Device Manager and restart your computer.
  2. If that doesn't work, then run the controller setup on Steam and manually set the Xbox Controller mode .
  3. If this does not help, then try connecting the gamepad over the wire.
  4. If even that doesn't help, then turn off all other controllers, especially steering wheels or simulator joysticks.

XInput1_4.dll file not found

Go to the C: \ Windows \ System32 folder and find the XInput1_3.dll file . Copy it to the root directory of Aliens: Fireteam Elite and then rename it to XInput1_4.dll .

Aliens: Fireteam Elite game not saved

  1. The game cannot be saved at any time - progress is saved by itself at the end of the mission.
  2. If the game is not saved at all, then check if there are any Russian letters on the path to the Endeavor.exe file .
