Guide for fast leveling in New World - tips and ways to get a lot of experience in the game

The main occupation in MMORPG New World is pumping your character. By making it stronger, you will unlock access to high-level content, and in this guide, we will show you ways to get the experience you need as soon as possible.

Note: it should be borne in mind that the information is relevant for the game build that was used in closed testing. For the release, developers can, for example, change the amount of experience gained for certain activities.

Give preference to quests

Give preference to quests

The main way to gain experience in New World is by completing tasks. Story quests provide the most benefits, but there are also enough side missions in the game that will allow you to get the required number of points to go to the next location or fight a cool mob.

Grind (killing monsters) in this game also brings experience, but in a smaller amount. In terms of the ratio of the time spent per unit of the received benefit, the destruction of tens and hundreds of mobs turns out to be less rational than completing quests.

The exception is opponents whom you need to kill according to the same task, but above this limit, try not to linger on them. The optimal way out is to collect the maximum number of tasks for one location (storyline, factional, from the board of city projects), come to the place, destroy all quest monsters and return to the NPC to receive a reward.

At this point, you need to concentrate on completing tasks like "collect so many herbs" or "craft so many potions for mana." The latter can be done right there on the machine, if you have all the necessary materials at your disposal.

Faction quests

Faction quests

Factional missions are PvE and PvP oriented. In terms of the amount of reward experience, they do not differ much, however, it takes longer to complete PvE quests. A series of three such tasks can take you up to 60 minutes of time, while a series of PvP quests can be done in 20 minutes. Moreover, they are usually completed near the city in which you took the task, so fight against players are more profitable in terms of experience gained.

However, it should be borne in mind here that in the case of PvP quests, other soldiers can kill you, so there is always a risk of failure. With PvE, the risks of failure are much less, so here you need to rely solely on your own strength and willingness to fight with other players.

Places of interest and notes with stories

Places of interest and notes with stories

Moving on to the next point, we will mark the places of interest that you definitely need to research. They are marked on the minimap with a question mark, and you just need to get close to the area to gain experience. You don't have to run there on purpose, but being nearby, nothing prevents you from walking to the place of interest and, possibly, finding a couple of chests with interesting loot there.

Notes with stories - the same situation, they are scattered in different locations. After reading them, you can learn something interesting from the lore of the game, and also get experience for this, comparable to killing three mobs of equal level to you. If you find all the notes from a particular story, you will be given even more experience, comparable to a fairly lucrative quest for killing monsters.

Skip the tutorial

Skip the tutorial

At the very beginning of the game, you will find a short tutorial, which takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. It describes the main mechanics and tells the storyline, but experienced players are already aware of all these things (the history of New World contains a large number of templates inherent in other MMORPGs).

So you have absolutely nothing to lose if you decide to skip the tutorial. To do this, during the training, press Esc, go to the Game Menu and press "Skip to NW" - this way you will immediately start the main gameplay.

Maximizing wasted time

Maximizing wasted time

While completing quests, you will very often stumble upon plants and mobs that you need to kill. Try to collect resources and take skin from killed opponents - this way you will pump peaceful professions and can get additional experience, as well as materials for crafting potions and food.

The Harvesting and Skining professions are the most profitable in terms of experience. For each level you get, you will earn experience, as for a fully-completed task, so we see no point in denying ourselves such an opportunity.

Gathering ore (Mining), fishing (Fishing), processing wood (Logging) take much longer, being less useful in terms of benefits.

Closing the area 100%

Closing the area 100%

Once in a certain area, try to complete all available activities in it. If you are sent on another quest to an adjacent location, but you still have uncompleted tasks in the current area (or, perhaps, there are many points with resources), we recommend staying in the current area.

The fact is that for pumping the reputation levels (Standing) of a certain territory, your character will be able to receive special cards with bonuses as a reward. We recommend choosing those that give experience and an increase in the speed of gathering resources.

Closing the area 100%

To see the active bonuses for pumping reputation in a certain area, you need to go to the global map in the menu in the upper left corner - there you will see all the cards available for activation.

Quit the game in your free time

Quit the game in your free time

New World has a system for calculating bonuses on the experience gained during the time the player spends offline (this bonus is valid only for those quests in which you need to kill mobs). This is done in order to equalize the chances of players with different amounts of free time.

Thus, if you do not plan to play actively at the moment, you should leave the game, and not leave your character in any city. In the first case, you will receive a bonus to experience, and in the second - not, so in this situation it is worth acting rationally.

This system can be used even more efficiently. For example, if you know that you will be finished in an hour, take some lucrative quests for killing monsters from the city project board, complete them, but do not turn them in. Once in the morning the next day, complete these quests to get double the reward right away.

Other tips for fast leveling in New World

So, above we have listed all the basic tips that will allow you to quickly pump your character. However, there are some additional tips to help you maximize your time in the game and improve the efficiency of your actions:

  • Use food and potions - craft yourself potions that increase damage to mobs of a specific type, and also use food that increases the hero's parameters (so you will rest less and kill quest opponents faster);
  • Use fast teleports - while scouting locations, look for obelisks that serve as fast travel points (also do not forget to set up a tent for resurrection after death and tie in a city tavern, where you can move for free once every 4 hours);
  • Find yourself a group - it is much more interesting and effective to carry out all the above activities, being in a team of two or three strong heroes (besides, with elite monsters, mini-bosses and creatures from the Rifts, from which the most interesting loot falls, it is simply not cope with).
