How to capture or destroy a city in Humankind

In strategy Humankind players will often need to attack neighboring cities, waging wars of conquest. The destruction of a settlement is provided by the developers as a variant of behavior during the confrontation, and in this guide we will tell you exactly how to destroy cities using the available game functionality.

Occupation of the city

Occupation of the city

Before conquering and destroying a foreign city, you need to declare war on another civilization and occupy its settlements. The occupation takes place if your army defeated the defenders of the city - in this case, it does not automatically join your territory.

As long as your conflict continues, the city will be considered occupied. As a result of the conflict, you can demand that the enemy recognize the surrender and give you this territory by the right of the strongest.

Note: we advise you to keep some of the troops near the occupied city, since while the war is going on, it can return to the control of the enemy.

Now we move on to the next step - the destruction of the settlement.

How to destroy a city in Humankind

When you have conquered an enemy settlement and decided to destroy it, you need to do the following:

  1. Allocate an army and lead a detachment to the occupied city;
  2. Click on the settlement and select "Ransack";
  3. Wait a few days for the action to complete.
If you successfully defended an occupied settlement that was on timer for several turns, the city will be plundered and destroyed.

The same method can be used to destroy your own city. Just let the enemy capture it, and then do not attack the settlement until the end of the war.
