Battlefield 2042 Alpha - Content and information from the leaks

How did the test go? Alpha started on August 12th and ran through August 17th. The US site "VideoGamesChronicle" claims to have found out that the playtest ran in a total of 6 sessions - 5 sessions with 3 hours of playing time each and one session with 9 hours of playing time (via videogameschronicle ). However, there were problems during the test and so it was extended.

The entire playtest was under an "NDA". This is a kind of nondisclosure agreement and Alpha players were not allowed to publish any information about the test. You are not even allowed to talk about it. Even the email invitation to the test was actually not allowed to be published:

What was there to see in the playtest? The leaked e-mail shows that the test should primarily focus on 3 points:

  • Opinions about the gameplay loop
  • Performance of BF2042
  • Technical stability

The gameplay leaks also showed the content of the alpha. Apparently only the map "Orbital" (the one with the rocket launch) was available in the Alpha in the capture mode of BF2042.

So far, hardly anyone has been able to play the new Battlefield 2042 and still a noticeable hype is building up around the new shooter.

It will be exciting to see how the latest installment in the Battlefield franchise fares against tough competition in the form of Call of Duty and the new Halo.

What is Battlefield 2042 actually about? After Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V last led into battle with World War II settings, the latest offshoot in the series now wants to offer a modern war scenario again.

It even goes a few years into the future, but it won't be a full sci-fi scenario. Rather, the shooter looks like Battlefield 3 and 4 with some technological innovations and gadgets.
