FIFA 22, our guide to getting started on FUT

FIFA 22, our guide to getting started on FUT

Whether you are new to the FIFA franchise or you are familiar with FIFA Ultimate Team mode, here is our guide and our advice to get started on FUT with the release of FIFA 22. Thus, we will present the main choices to be made, the DCEs to do's and don'ts as well as the methods to earn credits quickly from the first days. The goal is therefore to start building your team, get credits and get off to a good start for the year to come.

Which nation to choose to start their FUT season?

The first big choice to make in FUT mode will be choosing the nation for your starter pack. Indeed, EA offers you a rather important pack including your first cards of the season. However, you must choose the main nationality composing this pack. Thus, you will have the choice between nearly ten nations to compose your very first team on FUT 22.

FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT): How To Win

Our advice: Ignore small nations and focus on France , Brazil , England , even Spain and Germany .

The advantage of these nations lies in the fact that they have many players in the various major leagues but also that these nations are often useful in the first DCE (Team Building Challenge) of FUT.

Also note that Brazil and France allow you to create formations with many different leagues, which will give you more freedom and flexibility to develop your first FUT formation.

As a reminder, Germany via the Bundesliga was very interesting last year, with prices cheaper than in the Premier League but much better DCE than for Serie A and La Liga. If this year, Ligue 1 and the Premier League will be very Meta via the arrivals of the Mercato (both on the side of PSG and Manchester United), the prices of the best cards in these two leagues will be particularly high.

Contents of the first packs: what to keep and sell quickly

So the main starter packs will be tied to the chosen nation and give you a lot of different cards. You will therefore have to choose and sort your cards in order to see your options for earning credits (see the following chapters).

Some tips :

  • Don't throw away any cards, even those you can't redeem
  • Initially, keep your cards to make the first DCE available (see more)
  • As soon as the first DCEs are completed, sell your unusable cards of players from major leagues and nations (especially France, England, Germany and Brazil)
  • If you have a lot of chances and get a great card in the first few days (86+), wait a good week for the prices to start rising to sell it. On the first day, no one will have money to buy it from you
  • Sell your outfit and icon if they are big nations / clubs (see below)

Overall, depending on the quality of the cards, you will have a few techniques to remember. Indeed, Bronze cards sell very well, put them on sale as soon as you can. Do not hesitate to consult the following paragraphs to find out how to earn FUT Coins in FIFA 22.

How do you identify a good card at the start of FIFA 22?

Identifying a good card and what makes a card a Meta is the topic of another article on our site, but we'll cover the basics here. Overall, a Gold card will increase in value if it is playable. So, players generally favor stats like speed and physique to quickly determine whether the card is usable in-game or not.

Therefore, here are some examples of value to identify to know if a Gold player can be used in game in a starter team.

  • For a Goalscorer (BU): speed (overall), shooting, physicality and to a lesser extent the dribbling
  • For a Central Defender (CD): speed, defense and physique

Thus, an attacker at 77 but who has a good level of speed (86+), a shooting value greater than 80 and a physique of 75 or + will be more interesting (and therefore expensive at the start of the game) than a another attacker with a better level of passing, defense and dribbling but weaker on the three values listed above.

Sometimes some cards with an overall rating of 80 may see their price skyrocket if values are placed optimally. Thus, on the past edition of FIFA, Mendy's card remained for almost two months above 80,000 credits ( source in English). Besides his nationality and his club (France and Real Madrid) allowing the card to be easily linked to different FUT formations, the overall stats of the card have made him an excellent player on FIFA 21. In addition, with 4 in technical gestures and 5 in weak footing, the card is just amazing at just 83 overall rating.

Therefore, several factors must be taken into account when assessing the value of a card:

  • The combination of its stats: favor the values according to the Meta of the game (especially the speed)
  • Its nationality and its league: the more you shoot on big nations and major championships, the more the prize will be important
  • The number of stars in technical gestures and weak footing: although secondary at the start, these elements will make the cards particularly attractive in key positions, especially in attack
  • Finally, traits are also a big plus, especially for an attacking player. Shooting with finesse, outside of the foot or even a powerful header are effective traits sought after by the best FUT players in offensive positions.

Prepare your Starter Team and make it evolve

The idea of a Starter team is to have a strong team, correct in each position, allowing you both to easily win your Team Clashes but also to be able to face other players in Rivals.

Thus, we are not talking about 83+ players (unless you have a large budget to spend on FIFA Points) but rather 75-81 GOLD cards enough Meta at the start of the game. We will list you in our various guides, some examples of Starter Team OP in FIFA 22 FUT mode.

Evolving your Starter Team is sometimes complicated because it requires changing 2-3 players to integrate an excellent card that you have just obtained, via the transfer market or weekly rewards (via Rivals or Team Clash). The overall idea is to avoid buying cards in the market if the cards force you to change a large part of your team. If you are lucky enough to get high value non-exchangeable cards, take your time to integrate them.

Also favor your collective level rather than your team's overall rating at the start. A collective of 100 will allow you to gain bonus stats on all your cards rather than adding a card to 83 which will lower the collective by part of your 11.

Complete the first Basic and Advanced DCEs

These DCEs (team building challenges) are present from the launch of FIFA 22 on FUT mode and will allow you to obtain credits as well as packs for cheap. The idea is to use your uninteresting cards to complete them for less. In addition, completing them will allow you to advance in your basic FIFA 22 objectives, again giving you access to additional packs.

Therefore, learn to do them at a lower cost, using as much as possible non-exchangeable cards, from minor leagues (apart from the big leagues) and if possible, from a fairly weak nation.

Basic DCEs really don't require any thought, as long as you use the less interesting cards in your stockpile. However, you will then need to perform the Advanced DCEs. These are already more complex, since they include more criteria to complete them.

Avoid spending credits to achieve them as much as possible. You will find solutions and examples of solutions on Gamosaurus, allowing you to reproduce a cheap solution.

Also note that it is important to open the packs obtained, because you will quickly run out of map if you plan to store packs from the first days of play.

Install the FUT App to earn credits

In addition to the possibility of playing on the transfer market (see the next paragraph), the FIFA App allows you to regularly win gifts. This is because EA will reward you if you log in every day. So get into the habit of logging in at 7:00 p.m. every night (before going to Gamosaurus to find out about the new DCE solution) to potentially get a gift.

But it's also an opportunity to discover Daily Objectives, which again can earn bonuses and exp for the FUT Season. Some Daily Challenges can be as simple as buying a player, often earning you more than what you spent on a Bronze card.

How to earn credits on trading in the early days

It will be necessary to spend a lot of time on the app or in the game's transfer market in order to learn the value of cards and seize the right opportunities. During the first few days, these techniques will take time and it is necessary to take your time. Also, keep in mind that FIFA imposes a tax of 5% of the value of the card when sold. So pay attention to the prices so as not to lose money on the resale.

Here are our tips and strategies depending on the quality of the cards:

The Bronze Rare cards can be quite expensive if they allow to complete team building challenges. The technique will therefore be to get hold of Bronze cards at 150-200 credits, useful for the first DCE of the season. Buy these cards at the minimum price to resell them around 350-500 credits.

The Silver cards have value only if they come from big leagues / nations. However, you can keep these cards to make DCEs, especially Big Posters. So, it all depends on whether you can get your hands on inexpensive cards (below 400 credits) that will be used by other players to complete challenges. Mainly favor the cards of the 5 major championships and the main nations (France, Brazil, England, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal or even Argentina).

As for the Common Gold cards , some have an interest if the values are good. So, if a full-back in a big league is quick, chances are players are looking to get him for the first few games of the season. Learn the value of these sniper cards from cheap players to resell them a little more. Be careful though, these are probably the riskiest technique.

As mentioned above, Gold Rare cards and large cards should be kept during the first days of FIFA 22. Wait until prices start to increase before putting them on sale. Conversely, we do not recommend that you bet on big cards at the start. It is more interesting and less risky to bet 10,000 credits on 10 cards than 10,000 on a card.

The equipment and outfits can sell relatively expensive if you are lucky, from your first pack, get a suit or an icon of a big club. So, if your welcome pack offers Manchester United, PSG, a great national team (Brazil, France, Germany) or even an important club from a European championship, select it to resell it immediately on the market. This is a way to be able to earn a few thousand credits at launch, especially as these items will drop in price quickly in the coming weeks.

What game modes to play at the start of FIFA 22?

For once, this section is to be separated into two parts: if you start in the first 10 hours of play on 22 September or if you start the game after 27 (pre-order) or the 1 st of October.

In the first situation, open your packs on the FUT Web App and avoid hanging out on the game menu as much as possible during your 10 hours of play. Favor match time to achieve the most Clash d matches. 'Team to get rewards on Sunday night.

If your playing time is not limited, during the first weeks, favor the following game modes according to your level of play:

  • Team Clashes, whatever your level of play, to achieve the objectives and also to rank on your 40 matches of the week for the Sunday night rewards.
  • Rivals, if you enjoy playing against opponents. Even if your level of play is limited, you can play in Rivals for weekly rewards. In addition, it is possible to play in duo, if you want to make this game mode more enjoyable.
  • Finally, in FUT Draft if your level of play is high. Indeed, the price of the token will be easily compensated if you constantly win 3 to 4 matches in this game mode. In addition, it will allow you to test and evaluate cards.

Do you have to buy FIFA Points to be good in FIFA 22 FUT mode?

For the moment, we consider that the players are free to use their money as they want on a video game. In our case, we were able to get some great teams and finish well in FUT Champions without spending a single euro last year on FIFA 21, but that does require farming the game and being able to trade regularly.

However, with the possibility of previewing its packs from the launch of FIFA 22, spending FIFA Points on profitable packs could be an effective and inexpensive alternative. So, if you consider that spending a hundred dollars early in the game is profitable, prefer the use of preview packs and the arrival of OTW to do so.
