On July 21, 2021, a new Demon Hunter class was added to the Russian version of LOST ARK . We recently did a little review of this class , and in this article we will take a closer look at it and tell you how to play it.


Demon Hunter Features

The Demon Hunter is clearly distinguished from other classes by the presence of a whole arsenal of firearms, with which this class can be played both at close range and at long range.

Demon Hunter skillfully changes weapons in battle, switching between pistols, shotgun and carbine, which greatly affects her range, damage and mobility. The class is difficult to learn, but if you can master it to the fullest, then you will become a valuable member of any group.

Demon Hunter Stances

Using pistols, she becomes extremely mobile, easily dodges, her attacks become fast, but not as effective as with other weapons. Suitable for medium range attacks. Also, the Demon Hunter will be useful for the group using pistols, as she imposes an effect on opponents that reduces the target's resistance to critical hits from the Huntress and her followers by 10%.

Switching to a shotgun, the Huntress quickly exhausts opponents, controls them, and deals colossal melee damage.

And for long range, the Huntress uses a carbine, which also deals high damage. It should be noted that the damage when using the carbine skills is additionally increased depending on the amount of skill (combat characteristic of the character).

When using a shotgun and carbine, the Huntress loses her mobility, but compensates for this with her high damage.

In order to figure out how to play for the Demon Hunter, you must first understand how you will pump her. If there are several options, on which her play style and features fundamentally depend.

The most important thing to pay attention to is the choice of class engraving. How you play for this class depends on this.

There are two class engravings:

  • Peacemaker. Increases attack speed by 8/12/16% (depending on the level of engraving) when switching to pistols, increases the chance of a critical hit by 15/20/25% when switching to a shotgun. When switching to a carbine, it increases the damage done to opponents by 10%, and also, if the enemy's HP is below 50%, then the damage increases by 10/20/30% for 9 seconds.
  • Shooting. Increases the critical strike chance of skills using pistols and carbines by 20/25/30% (depending on the level of engraving), but Demon Hunter can no longer use a shotgun stance.
You can take two class engravings at once or only one "Peacemaker". In this update, the majority of players are opting for the Peacemaker engraving, as this engraving enhances the potential of her entire arsenal. And this has its own complexity, since it is more difficult to switch between the three types of weapons, in contrast to the engraving "Shoot", which blocks the use of a shotgun.


Builds

Now you need to decide on a set of skills (build) and runes. The best skill option is the one that you choose for yourself with long practice and mastering the class. But first, we suggest that you use such options that are more suitable for battles with monsters (PvE). When using runes, please note that no more than 8 skills can be enhanced at the same time.

Build through the Peacemaker class engraving

Pistols:

  • Trial lunge. We pump up to level 4 and choose the "Absorption" tripod. It is used to increase attack and movement speed. Better to use Runa Rush.
  • Stripping. We pump up to 4 levels and choose the "Wide step" tripod. It is used to close distance or dodge.
  • Quick fire. We pump up to level 4 and choose the "Fire Suppression" tripod. It is used to inflict an effect that reduces the target's resistance to critical hits from the hunter and her followers by 10%.
  • Spinning revolver. We pump up to level 4 and choose the Fire Suppression tripod. Also used to inflict a negative effect, just like in Rapid Fire. Better to use Rune Val or Jar.
  • Somersault. If you have enough points, then we pump up to level 4 and choose the tripod "Alla-op!", If not enough, then we leave it at the first level. Used to shorten distance or dodge.
  • A barrage of bullets. We pump up to level 4 and choose the "Assassination" tripod. With this tripod, attacks from behind this skill do more damage. Better to use Rune Val'Mort or Raide. Rune Val'Mort without Rune Val does not work.
Shotgun:

  • Iron argument. We pump up to level 10 and select the tripods "Last Barrier", "Steel Shot" and "Big Game". The Last Shield tripod is chosen to increase damage and increase the chance of a critical strike, but this skill no longer has the effect of an attack from the back. Steel Shot is taken to increase damage, and Big Game also increases damage, but only against opponents that are immune to the effects of daze and knockback, that is, bosses. Better to use Runa Agel.
  • Deadly number. We pump up to level 10 and select the tripods "Last Barrier", "Weighted Bullets" and "Fire Zone". Tripod "Last Barrier" is the same as in the previous skill. Tripods "Weighted Bullets" and "Fire Zone" are taken to increase the damage. Better to use Runa Agel.
  • Dead zone. We pump up to level 10 and select the tripods "Weak Point", "Last Barrier" and "Wild Fire". Weak point tripod allows you to deal more damage to bosses. Last Barrier is the same as in Iron Argument. With the Wildfire tripod, the skill applies an ignition effect on opponents, which deals additional damage. Better to use Runa Agel.
  • Instant judgment. We pump up to level 7 and choose the tripods "Continuous shooting" and "Beater tactics". The first tripod reduces the cooldown of this skill, and the second increases the speed of using this skill, shortens the distance and additionally increases damage to exhausted opponents. On this skill, you can save skill points if you do not have enough of them. Better to use Rune Fehe.
Carbine:

  • Zero ray. We pump up to level 10 and select the tripods "Fast Aim", "Hidden Reserve" and "Fire Zone" or "End of the Game". The first tripod shortens the aiming time. The second tripod imposes an effect that increases the damage taken by the enemy from the last shot. And the third tripod, you can choose the one that is more convenient for you. The "Shot Zone" increases the preparation time of the last shot, but the radius of its attack increases and opponents in the center of the attack area receive more damage, and with the "End of Game" tripod, the hunter makes only one powerful shot, but the damage of this skill increases. Better to use Runa Agel.
  • Aimed strike. We pump up to level 10 and select the tripods "Fast aiming", "Increased charge" and "Fight center". "Fast Aim" increases the speed of aiming. Increased Charge increases the number of shots to 4 and further increases the damage of the last shot. With the "Melee Center" tripod, the damage done to enemies in the center of the skill's area of ​​effect increases. Better to use Runa Agel.
  • Sure shot. We pump up to level 10 and choose the tripods "Hunter's Fortitude", "Finishing Off" and "Steel Shot". With the "Hunter's Fortitude" tripod, the hunter becomes immune to daze effects when using this skill. Choosing the “Finishing Off” tripod increases the damage of a shot made at the ideal moment, if the enemy's health is less than 50%. The Steel Shot tripod increases the damage of the skill if the shot is fired at the perfect moment. Better to use Runa Agel.
  • Controlled explosion. If you have enough points, then we pump up to level 4 and select the “Fast Aim” tripod, if not enough, then we leave it at the first level. Used to deal damage. Better to use Rune Fehe.

Pistols:

  • AT-2 grenade. We pump up to level 10 and choose the tripods "Concentration", "Fragmentation grenades" and "Tick-tock". The "Concentration" tripod reduces the mana cost of this skill. Frag Grenades increases the damage of the skill. And "Tick-tock" imposes on opponents the effect "Projectile of slow action", at the end of the countdown of this effect an explosion occurs, which inflicts additional damage to the target. Better to use Runa Jar.
  • Plasma volley. We pump up to level 10 and select the "Weak Point", "Molten Armor" and "Ball Lightning" tripods. Weak point allows you to deal more damage to bosses. With the Molten Armor tripod, plasma balls ignore a certain percentage of opponents' defense. And with the "Ball Lightning" tripod, the hunter releases only one large-diameter plasma ball, increasing the damage and attack speed of the skill.
  • A barrage of bullets. We pump up to level 10 and choose the tripods "Assassination", "Cannonade" and "Zapal". "Cannonade" increases the shooting time, but also increases the damage of the skill. Using the "Fuze" tripod, the hunter shoots fire charges, the critical damage of this skill increases. Better to use Rune Val'Mort. Val does not work without Rune.

Character combat characteristics

Playing through the Peacemaker class engraving, you should divide your combat stats between lethality and mastery. Most of it is lethality and the rest is skill, like 60/40.

And after choosing both class engravings, make the ratio of lethality and mastery 50/50.

Engraving

In addition to the class engravings, you will also need general engravings. Regardless of which path you choose, the following engravings may suit you additionally: titan fighter, morning star, golem and new dawn. Try to do level 3 engravings. For example, a level 1 morgenstern will be worse than not taking it at all, but this is already a big topic for discussion, I will not go deeper here.

Equipment

In the current version of the game, the strongest equipment is considered to be a set of equipment with the Lords of Fetrania Voldan and Belakis. There are several sets to choose from, but for the Demon Hunter gear of absolute power is preferred.

Decks

One of the most suitable decks is Boer Morhen. By pumping it to level 12, you will receive an additional 7% critical strike chance.

Game tactics

Most often, switching to pistols is used to inflict an effect on opponents that reduces resistance to critical hits from the hunter and her companions, and the rest of the weapons are used to deal damage. But with the engraving “Shooting”, in the absence of a shotgun, pistols become one of the main weapons for dealing damage.

The main thing is to maintain the effect on increasing the chance of a critical strike, apply the effect on increasing the speed of attack and movement by switching the stance, and constantly inflict damage from a shotgun and carbine.

Try to dodge most enemy attacks, as the Huntress does not have the highest defense rate among other classes (her base defense is 80%).
