Can I play Minecraft on my PC or smartphone?

You can play perfectly, as long as you meet the minimum and recommended requirements. If you want to know what they are, here we explain all the requirements of the different editions .

How many editions of Minecraft are there?

There are several different versions of Minecraft, from those that focus only on playing to educational ones, such as the Education Edition. If you want to know all there are, we recommend you take a look at our guide with all editions of Minecraft .

Can I play with users of other consoles, mobile phones or PC?

Yes, you can play with your friends and users of other platforms in Minecraft, but it depends on the version you are using. Crossplay is only activated in the Bedrock Edition, so if you play in Minecraft: Java Edition, you can only share a game with other players of that same edition, and with the same update on PC. To mix console, PC and mobile players, you have to just use Minecraft and follow our guide on crossplay .

Can you play Minecraft for free?

Minecraft is a paid game, so you always have to pay to buy it and be able to enjoy it. However, there are legal ways to play for free. Do you want to know them? In that case, take a look at this guide .

Do I have to pay to play online?

You do not need to pay to play online, although on consoles it is necessary to join services such as PlayStation Plus, Xbox Live or Nintendo Switch Online. You can create free servers to play with friends on permanent worlds, or turn to Minecraft Realms for easier-to-install paid servers. You can also share normal game with users without having to pay for additional services beyond the internet on consoles (no payment is necessary on PC). If you want to know more about it, or if you are interested in using Realms, we advise you to take a look at our Minecraft servers guide .

I have created a free server, but it is not working well, what happens?

If you take a look at the guide that we link in the previous section, you will see how we explain that opening a free server requires consuming resources on your computer. It is possible that you do not have enough connection to ensure that the game goes well when connecting, or it is also possible that your computer does not have the necessary resources to do so. In that case, it is advisable to hire a hosting to take care of hosting everything and work on your own. If you don't want complications and don't mind paying, then go straight for Minecraft Realms or Realms Plus.

I can't join other worlds, why?

There are many reasons why you may not connect to other worlds. To begin with, it is possible that their server is incorrectly configured, it is also possible, if you play on PC, that you have not allowed the operating system to open the connection for Minecraft, that you have entered the wrong ID of the world to connect to or that the other users have misconfigured their worlds. Usually it is a problem that comes from others, not from you.

The mods that I download are not visible, what happens?

It is possible that you have not selected the mods correctly, that the ones you have chosen are incompatible with your version of Minecraft or that you have not placed them in the correct folder. If you want to know how to do the proper steps to install them or even which ones are the best, check out our Minecraft mods guide .

Can I customize my character?

Of course you can customize your character, and it doesn't matter what edition you're playing in. Whether on mobile, PC or consoles, you can use both paid and free skins to have the appearance you want within the game. If you want a few, and you also want to know how to use them, check out this guide to skins in Minecraft .

Can the water level be changed?

No. Minecraft's water level is defined by the level of the ocean. The water will always try to fill in on the surface and below it. It is true that you can modify the game to change the levels to your liking, creating blocks of water or making ponds at different heights, but it is not natural in the game.

What blocks does gravity affect?

If you notice, a lot of blocks are left floating when you remove what is under them. Most Minecraft blocks are not affected by gravity. The only ones that are affected are sand and gravel, which can fall on you if you dig underneath, even killing you if there are many. Be careful when playing a miner!

What happens if I am killed in Survival Mode?

In the event that your character is killed in Survival Mode, the normal adventure in Minecraft, you will lose everything you were carrying. The inventory is empty, your equipment falls to the ground ... Everything will stay where you died and will be waiting for you to return, although you must hurry. If they kill you again before reaching the site in question, you won't be able to get back what you had.

Is there an endgame?
