BACKEND SERVER COULD NOT BE FOUND BATTLEFIELD 2042, HOW TO FIX THE BUG?

The Battlefield 2042 Open Beta is finally live, but some players are experiencing the Backend server could not be found bug!

This Friday, October 8 finally marks the arrival of the open beta of Battlefield 2042 after an early access beta for EA Play players who have pre-ordered the title. However, once after starting a game, some players encounter an error message that says “ Backend server could not be found ”.

This concern is simply because the servers are being taken offline or you are not playing with the latest version of the open beta. To find out which of the two is problematic, you can follow the steps below.

How do I fix Backend server could not be found issue on Battlefield 2042?

If you encounter this error message, the first thing to do is to verify that you have the latest version of the open beta or the game, but especially all the files. For that, you will have to:

  • Go to your game library on Steam and Origin
  • Find the game and right click
  • On Steam , you must then click on Properties , then on Local files and click on Check integrity of game files . On Origin you just need to Repair
  • If a file is missing, Steam or Origin will download it automatically and you can play again.

Besides a missing file, the servers may also be offline for maintenance or other issues . To find out if this is the case, be sure to follow the EA Help Twitter account ( source ) or the Battlefield 2042 Twitter account ( source ). If your issue is still not resolved, then you can check out EA's article on connection issues  ( source ) or  submit a service ticket  on EA Help ( source ) to have an advisor assist you in resolving it. .
