How to make a small taskbar in Windows 11

Windows 11 is a new version of the operating system from Microsoft. As is often the case, the developers have made a number of changes to the interface that some users may not like. In this article, we will show you how to reduce the size of the taskbar in Windows 11.

In Windows 11, the taskbar is larger than we are used to. If you want it to be as small as in Windows 10, you have to make changes to the registry. Below we will show you how to do this. Unfortunately, there is currently no easier way to resize the taskbar.

  • Go to Registry Editor . To do this, press the keyboard shortcut Win + R. This will bring up the "Run" window. In it you need to enter the "regedit" command (without quotes).
  • In the window that opens, find the Advanced folder . It is located at HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced.
In the window that opens, find the Advanced folder

  • In this directory, you need to create a TaskbarSi parameter . To do this, right-click on the window with the contents of the Advanced folder, select "New", and then - "DWORD parameter (32 bits)". The new parameter should be named "TaskbarSi" (without quotes)

Open this parameter and put the number 0 in the "Values" line.

  • Restart File Explorer . To do this, hold down the key combination Ctrl + Shift + Esс, find "Explorer" in the list of processes and click on the "Restart" item in the lower right corner of the window. An alternative option is to restart your computer.
If you did everything correctly, the taskbar will be reduced to the smallest possible size. If desired, it can be increased or returned to the standard settings. If you reopen the TaskbarSi parameter and put the number 1 in the "Values" line, the taskbar will become medium in size. Number 2 will make it big.
