Setting config in CS GO

Any player in CS: GO wants to improve the existing skills of the game. One day for everyone there comes a moment when only persistent training cannot make the situation better, there is a desire to look for other ways to improve their own results.

One option allows you to achieve success - changing the game settings using a special file. To use it, you need to figure out how to set the config in the CS: GO.

A config, or configuration, is a set of settings saved in a file with the extension .cfg. It includes game parameters that reflect the shape and size of the scope, mouse speed, image detail, zoom sensitivity, etc. All configs are divided into several categories:

  • Client settings (graphics settings, key values, mouse sensitivity, etc. are registered);
  • Server settings (only work for server owners);
  • Scripts are a certain sequence of actions assigned to be performed by pressing a specific key.

The use of configuration files allows for more "fine" tuning of the game, which has a beneficial effect on the result. The existence of this method makes many players look for an answer, how to install .cfg for CS GO?

There are two paths regarding the configuration file. You can create and install your own config, or you can use a ready-made version. Files of this type are opened with a text editor, each line written in them is responsible for a certain parameter of the game.

If you have a ready-made version and want to replace your own settings with it, you need to move it to the cfg folder located in the game directory. The game must be running for the changes to take effect. Then open the command console and write: exec "configuration file name" .cfg.

If you do not want to repeat these steps every time, you should go to the Steam library by right-clicking "Properties" on the icon with the CS: GO. After that, go to setting the launch parameters and type the command -console -exec "config name" .cfg. After confirming the settings once, you can continue the game with the new configuration.
