This article makes it easy to clear your profile nickname history or display the same username. This will remove any old aliases from your profile, which actually looks pretty good.
You will be able to remove any old aliases that you do not want to see on your profile, while your story looks clean. Let's start!
Step 1
- Go to the Pastebin website and copy the symbol from there: https://pastebin.com/Ri7QfSST
- It will be invisible, so to copy it, right-click inside “RAW Paste Data” and select “Select All”.
- Right click inside "RAW Paste Data" again and click "Copy".
- You have now copied the invisible symbol! Let's move on to the last stage.
Step 2
Now go to the screen for changing your profile name from the friends list window.
Note: Steam will force you to wait a bit after you change your profile name five times. Don't worry, it won't be long.
For the first result:
Delete your username and paste the symbol from Pastebin once with Ctrl + V (or Command + V on Mac). Right clicking to paste will not work.
Once you insert this symbol, you will not see any indication that you have invested something. Just go to the bottom of the screen and click OK to save your changes.
Your nickname history is now shown as one blank space. Go back to the change profile name bar from your friends list and insert the second character. Save it and repeat this step, adding an extra Pastebin symbol each time until you fill your entire alias history with blank space.
Congratulations! Your nickname history has now been cleared. Make sure to remove all Pastebin characters and switch to your regular username when done.
For the second result:
If you want the username you have set to fill all rows of nickname histories, just paste the character from Pastebin behind or in the middle of the username using Ctrl + V (or Command + V on Mac). Right clicking to paste will not work.
Once you insert this symbol, you will not see any indication that you have invested something. Just go to the bottom of the screen and click OK to save your changes.
Your nickname history now shows two identical usernames. Go back to the change profile name panel from your friends list and paste the character into your username a second time. Save it and repeat this step, adding an extra Pastebin symbol each time until you fill your entire alias history with the same username.
Congratulations! Your nickname history has now been cleared. Make sure to remove all Pastebin characters and switch to your regular username when done.
