Jurassic World Evolution 2: Recruitment and Training of Scientists

In Jurassic World Evolution 2, you have to recruit and train scientists to help you research new buildings and dinosaurs. You also send them on expeditions and let them heal your animals. We explain to you what you have to pay attention to.

Skills and characteristics of scientists explained

Scientists have two essential qualities - skills and characteristics. The skills are divided into three types:

  • - Logistics
  • - Genetics
  • - Wellbeing

You need logistics above all to research buildings and their extensions. In the Jurassic World Evolution 2 campaign, you will mainly use this ability. If you play challenge or sandpit again, genetics and wellbeing are the more important skills.

Your scientists need the ability genetics especially when it comes to researching genomes, extracting fossils and excavations. You need wellbeing above all in researching everything that directly affects the dinosaurs, such as diseases and healing.

Scientists have various characteristics that additionally affect the tasks assigned to them. They bring you extra bonuses, so to speak, such as

  • Motivated: Increases the stress limit by 4.
  • Generalistic: Increases all skills by 1.
  • Faster Research: Reduces research task time by 50%.
  • Cheaper Research: Reduces research costs by 30%.
  • Positive influence: Reduces the task duration by 20% if at least one other scientist is assigned.
  • Dinosaur Welfare Specialization: Increases dinosaur welfare potential by 5 and dinosaur welfare ability by 3.
  • Genetic Specialization: Increases Genetic Potential by 5 and Genetic Skill by 3.

Hire the right scientists

In the campaign, it is also a good idea to hire scientists who cover all three skills well on average. These are the generalists. But if you play challenge or sandpit, then you will need higher values for genetics and well-being later in the game .

Therefore, when recruiting scientists, make sure that they have specializations in certain skills . Scientists with a maximum score of seven to ten for genetics or well-being will ultimately benefit you much more than those who get a maximum of six points for all three skills.

The trait property, if used properly, can save you a lot of money and time. We recommend that you pay attention to the characteristics of the scientist, which are either cost-reducing or time-saving . At the beginning of the game, this is not so clear. But later, the savings can save your park from bankruptcy.

Scientists train

In Challenge, Chaos Theory and Campaign you have to research the scientist training in order to be able to train the scientists . To do this, go to research and look for structures in the lower strand.

Scientists already have a level of training. You can find it under the heading Training. If your scientists all already have a training level of three and you are researching scientist training 1 in research, then you will not be able to assign any further training points to these employees.

We recommend that you always level your specialization to maximum first before you train the two remaining skills.

Use scientists properly and prevent stress

When assigning new tasks to scientists, try to use as few as possible . In addition, their values should exceed the required value as minimally as possible, or ideally correspond exactly. This way you can keep the stress as low as possible.

The stress increases by one point for each completed task. If it reaches the maximum (the bars are already shown in red as a warning beforehand) and you continue to use the scientists, then they become dissatisfied and can sabotage your park . This is associated with high losses and costs for you, so it is important to let the scientists rest beforehand.

The more scientists you hire, the better you can distribute the tasks among them. Up to 16 scientists can support you in Jurassic World Evolution 2. For this you need two personnel centers, which you equip with the appropriate extensions. The expansion required for this is the scientific capacity .
