Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Find fishing rods, super rods and professional rods

 If you want to catch Aquatic Pokémon, fishing is a great alternative in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. There are three different fishing rods in the game which, depending on the quality, are hooked to rare or less rare pocket monsters. In our guide we reveal all the locations to you.

This is how you get the normal fishing rod

You can get the first fishing rod very early in the game. To do this, you have to leave Jubelstadt west of the Pokétch Society towards Route 218 . In the through building there is a fisherman on the south wall who will give you the fishing rod. Unfortunately, the normal fishing rod only takes weak and not exactly rare Pokémon out of the water - usually Magikarp. But if you want to have a Gyarados on the team early on, then you should fall back on it.

Here you can find the professional fishing rod

The second level is the professional fishing rod. You can use it to fish somewhat stronger Pokémon. You have to earn two medals and reach Herzhofen. After you have explored Herzhofen, you can leave it through the eastern exit towards Route 209 . After a few meters you will find a jetty on the water where an angler pursues his hobby. Talk to him and he will give you the professional fishing rod.

Location of the strong super fishing rod

The super fishing rod is the best fishing rod in the game and is suitable for both strong and rare Pokémon. Unfortunately, you have to play a long time to get it. You must first complete the Pokémon League and then complete the Sinnoh Dex in order to receive the National Dex from Professor Eibe.

Before that, you must have explored the combat area that you can reach from Blizzach Harbor. In the north of the combat area (towards Route 225) two NPCs are blocking the way . If you have the National Dex, you can pass the path. In front of the through building behind the containers is the fishing rod that gives you the super fishing rod.

First of all, we recommend that you register your fishing rod under the basic items so that you can quickly select it using the plus button. Otherwise you have to open your bag every time. Then stand in front of a water hole and cast the fishing rod. When a! Icon appears over your head, quickly press the A button to pull the Pokémon out. You can also cast your fishing rod while surfing.
