Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the third installment in a saga that has been on the market for a few years. Is it really necessary to play the previous ones to understand the plot of the new installment?
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the latest installment in a saga with a lot of tradition. Don't let the name fool you because it is far from the third part. But of course, with so much previous games, the question comes. Do you need to play previous Xenoblades to understand the story?
The short answer is no, you don't have to have played Xenoblade Chronicles or Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to understand what XC3 is all about. However, keep in mind that all three games share certain details and common elements. This means that, in some cases, the players of the first and second part can pick up details that newcomers miss. However, as we indicated above, you will not miss relevant plot details because you do not know the saga, or follow a common plot or nothing is developed directly from previous installments.
It should be remembered that the Xenoblade saga was preceded by the Xenosaga saga (forgive the alliteration) and Xenogears, the latter being the first of all to see the light in the distant. All of them are great titles that, if you have the opportunity, you should try.
