Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Is it a turn-based RPG?

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is an RPG, but something different from the usual ones. Is it in turns? Is it a more action-focused game? We solve it for you so you don't get into something you don't like.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and the logical thing would be that, if you have doubts about the game, take a look at the analysis that Carlos dedicated so many hours to. But if you want a quick answer to the question about whether it is a turn-based role-playing game or not, here we make it very, very simple.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is not a turn-based RPG. Although the general system is much more complicated, to simplify it we will say that it is a game in which the combats are in real-time, with automatic normal attacks and manual input special attacks. That is, you move your character around the battle arena freely, your character launches normal attacks whenever possible, and you choose special attack abilities.

The system, as noted above, is much more complex, with attacks whose effectiveness depends on the angle from which they hit the enemy, special abilities in the form of buffs and debuffs, and much more... but this should get you the idea. For the most clumsy, the game includes a mode in which the combats are 100% automatic, so you can simply sit back and enjoy the plot.
