The Monado is the most famous weapon in the Xenoblade universe and you can also unlock the sword as a special weapon in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. This also works, but not only with amiibo figures. You can also find out how to use them and what other advantages they bring you in this guide.
Scan amiibo and get rewards
Amiibo figures unlock small bonuses in many Nintendo games, including Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The Amiibo menu is available in-game from the start. So you don't have to reach a certain level of progress first. Simply open the main menu and select the "System" submenu. Below, as the third last item, you will find "amiibo". Click on it once and then hold your amiibo figure at the point shown on your controller. After the successful scan, you will be shown which bonuses you will receive. These are usually collectible items or nopon coins.
You can use all available amiibo figures in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. However , you can only use this feature three times a day. And an amiibo can only be scanned once a day. So you need three characters to get the maximum bonus. The next day you can scan all used figures again. If you haven't saved your save after scanning, you'll have three new tries when you load your game.
Unlock and equip Monado with Amiibo
With the Shulk amiibo there is a character that unlocks a special reward with the first scan: the Monado sword. However, you can't equip it until the in-game clothing menu is unlocked - that happens in Chapter 3 when you complete Ethel's heroic mission.
If you're already that far, then you have to go to "Characters" in the menu and then select "Clothing". Press the Y button here to open the accessories list, which now contains the Monado . Equip it to feel a little like Shulk in battle. Logically, you can only use the Monado if you play with the swordsman class. The Monado is a visual change in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and has no unique abilities.
Unlock Monado without amiibo
Many players probably do not own a Shulk amiibo. Unfortunately, it is also difficult to acquire a character. The Shulk amiibo is usually sold out and can often only be purchased at very high prices.
But don't worry, you can get the Monado Sword without an amiibo in-game. Unfortunately, you won't have the pleasure of doing this very quickly. You have to play through Xenoblade Chronicles 3 for that. After the credits, the message appears that from now on you can equip the Monado as an accessory, as described above.
