How does crossplay work in Overwatch 2?

Overwatch 2 console players can link their accounts in the main menu. This will make crossplay available, which you can then turn on and off as you see fit in the gameplay options. PC players always play in crossplay.

The following rules apply to cross-platform play:

  • PC gamers will automatically play on all platforms in a quick search.
  • If console players play with each other, they will only be matched with console players.
  • If at least one PC player is playing with a console player, they will be matched with all players. Console players playing with PC players will have aim assist disabled.

How does cross-progression work in Overwatch 2?

Overwatch 2 allows you to share your stats, achievements, and items across platforms. If you connect your accounts, you can also link them. This ensures that your game content is transferred to your accounts.

But be careful: You can only transfer your content once. If you link an account for the second time, you cannot take over the content with it.

Linking the content is also possible before the release of Overwatch 2. Your progress will carry over to Overwatch at release .
