In Hogwarts Legacy you'll gain an insane amount of equipment – much of it useless – and it will very soon take up all the equipment slots you have in your inventory. Once all slots are full, you will no longer be able to collect new pieces of equipment. This means that you will have to destroy the less valuable items or sell the excess equipment at a shop. Both are delicate picks that you'll have to pick up in no time. But there is an even better solution: get more equipment slots.

HOW TO ADD SLOTS TO EQUIPMENT
While playing Hogwarts Legacy, you will often come across a message that your inventory will be full. When it appears in front of you, it will mean that you can no longer pick up more pieces of equipment.
If you can't reach a shop and you have no other way to collect the reward of a mission, you can only destroy something in your inventory and only then collect that coveted reward. Trust us: an item below your level won't be useful in the long run, so it's not worth keeping with you.
There is one way to get more equipment slots in Hogwarts Legacy, and all you have to do is complete the Trials of Merlin. Trials of Merlin are marked by a circular leaf icon on the map, and completing each trial will add a unit to your Challenges menu. Completing Trials of Merlin will unlock extra gear slots in your gear inventory, so it's worth trying whenever you come across one.
IS THERE EQUIPMENT STORAGE?
Unfortunately, there is no equipment storage in Hogwarts Legacy, so you won't be able to store any items you've picked up on your travels. However, you don't need to keep an item around all the time if you like the look of it, since the look of each item will add to your appearance menu.
If you like the look of an item, you can make your gear inherit its look at any time, regardless of what you wear for stat purposes. To change your appearance, simply press Square/X on PlayStation/Xbox while hovering over the slot of the equipment whose appearance you want to change. You can also press Triangle/Y on your coat to raise or lower the hood, which will hide the hat though.
HOW TO GET MORE MALLOW IN HOGWARTS LEGACY
One thing you will need to complete the Trials of Merlin is Mallow. Mallow is a type of leaf and using it will trigger a Trial of Merlin. The best way to obtain Mallow is to grow it in the Room of Requirement but, if you prefer, you can also buy it from the merchants scattered throughout the world of Hogwarts Legacy.
