Atomic Heart weapons guide - where to find all the blueprints, how to upgrade, which weapon is best to use
There are twelve types of weapons waiting for you in Atomic Heart. Most of them will have to be collected from improvised materials and then improved using various resources. To do this, you will need not only resources but also drawings. In this guide, we will tell you where to find them.
What types of weapons are in Atomic Heart
All weapons in the game are divided into three types:
Cold. It doesn't require ammo and does decent damage, but you have to get close to the enemy to use it. It is almost impossible to fight flying robots with such weapons. At the same time, some bosses, for example, Ivy, are vulnerable to melee weapons.
Gunshot. This type of weapon requires ammo to use and can be a problem, especially if you're killing everyone in your path. However, if necessary, they can be crafted in the crafting menu.
Energy. Deals damage at a distance and does not consume ammo but requires a cooldown time. You can speed it up with the help of skills from the Character Energy branch, as well as individual perks in the abilities menu. For example, thanks to the "Energy Vampire" you will restore the charge during the use of the skill "Massive Telekinesis".
What are the best guns to use in Atomic Heart
As is often the case with shooters that have RPG elements, there is no single tactic here. You can rely on shotgun, submachine gun, and pistol, or use special skills all the time. The author of these lines went through the entire game with the help of energy weapons and the Mass Telekinesis skill. Due to the constant use of this ability, the charge in the "guns" was quickly restored, so the opponents could not even get close to the impact distance. At the same time, the cartridges were not spent at all. With such tactics, difficulties arose only with bosses, but firearms were used against them, for which there was enough ammunition.
We will talk about the pros and cons of all types of weapons below.
Steel arms
Swede. Shows itself well at the start of the game, but quickly loses relevance. It makes little sense to invest resources in pumping it.
Fox. You can collect this ax and pump it, but it is better to invest the materials in something else.
Snowball. Slightly more powerful than Fox, but not as effective as Pate and Star. We do not recommend wasting resources on it.
Pate. A good choice for the mid-game. With full pumping, you can use it until the very end.
Star. The best representative of its class. If you rely on melee, go for it first.
Energy weapons
Electro. Relevant at the beginning of the game until you craft the Dominator. But during this time you will have time to understand how this type of weapon works in Atomic Heart.
Dominator. An excellent example of its class. With full pumping, you can use it until the very end. The alternate shot works like a BFG from the Doom games - it releases a ball of energy that deals damage to anyone in its path.
Railgun. The most powerful weapon in the game. True, each shot consumes a lot of energy, so it is recommended to use it only against heavily armored opponents.
Firearms
PM. This pistol can be used as a backup when you run out of ammo or ammo on your primary weapon. It is not worth spending resources on pumping.
KS-23. At the early stage of the game, you simply will not have an alternative to this shotgun. When fully pumped, you can use it further, but for the effectiveness of the hit, you will need to get close to the enemy, because of which you will risk getting hit.
Kalash. An excellent option for the role of the main "trunk". There are enough cartridges, the lethal force is high, and it is possible to fight at a distance.
Robust. The grenade launcher has a huge lethal power, which will come in handy in boss battles. Ammunition for him is rare, so we recommend not to spend it on simple mobs. At least until you learn how to make them yourself.
How to craft and upgrade weapons in Atomic Heart
All crafting is carried out using the Eleanor robot. You will meet her both in safe rooms and in the open world of the game. Go to the equipment menu. There you can make weapons and upgrade them. All types of weapons and special upgrades for them require blueprints that you can find along the way. We talked about them below.
It’s not worth pumping everything in a row - the resources in the game are limited. It is advisable at an early stage to decide on your battle tactics and invest in those types of weapons that you really need.
How to find all weapons and upgrades in Atomic Heart
Before we talk about the location of all the drawings, I want to pay attention to one point. Several authors have run Atomic Heart in parallel on different platforms.
