Sons of the Forest: Find rope gun and use zipline - Game Guide

 The rope gun is an important item in Sons of the Forest that allows you to use zip lines. You'll also need the rope gun if you want the shovel. In this guide, we will tell you in which cave you have to look for it.

Location of the rope gun

To get the rope gun you will have to go through a long cave. In the video above we show you the path on the peaceful level of difficulty so that no opponents disturb you. On the normal level of difficulty, there will be a lot of enemies in your way. You should therefore prepare well and get at least the pistol and the stun gun. Also, save the game before entering the cave. The cave you are looking for is in the west, as you can see from the map below.

In this cave, you will find the rope gun. 

After destroying the wooden beams blocking the entrance to the cave, you should grab the torch or flashlight inside to improve your visibility. Numerous mutants await you in the first extensive area of ​​the cave. On the left side, the cave passage leads to a dead end. A sluggy blocks your further way. In addition to a corpse, you can collect time bombs here and use them immediately to blow up the Sluggy. This also unlocks an achievement.

Conveniently, there are time bombs next to the Sluggy that you can use directly.

Follow the path behind it and defend yourself against other mutants. You now have to cross an area with many stalactites. Some corpses are hanging from the ceiling and you will find a strange mural on the right side.

If you pass this mural, you're on the right track. 

Further down the stalactite cave, more corpses are hanging from the ceiling and you will encounter baby mutants, which you can best kill with a spear. As you progress further, the ceiling gets lower and lower until you see a light source in the distance with skeletons hanging from the ceiling.

After a dark section, you will find this light source and skeletons on the ceiling.

Go deeper into the cave and you'll find one hanging corpse after another. After seeing the three corpses hanging next to each other, you have to squeeze through a narrow gap on the left behind them. A little later there is a junction with two paths. On the right is a dead end with a few items and on the left is the right path. Here you will find an inconspicuous hole in the wall that you have to crawl through.

Look for this small hole and go through it.

Behind it, you have to keep right and cross the last part of the cave, which gets narrower and narrower. This is where even the last mutants will want to keep you from your goal. Eventually, you will find a black suitcase at the end where the rope gun lies.

In the end, the rope gun is finally yours. 

The rope gun allows you to use ziplines. You don't need ammo for this, and you don't need to have the rope gun equipped either. There is a zip line above the suitcase and you can try it out. Face the zipline and press the button that appears on the screen. Thanks to the zipline, you can take a shortcut to exit the cave a little later.
