To defeat enemies in Jagged Alliance 3, it is important to assemble a team of skilled fighters. At an early stage of the game, just go to the recruitment menu and select the soldiers you need. But some mercenaries can only be found in certain places on the map. In addition, there are characters whose searches are associated with specific missions. We will cover them in this guide.

Where to find Mr. Ditch (The Hermit) in Jagged Alliance 3

You will find this mercenary during the quest "The Hermit". Access to the task will open after a conversation with the butler of the destroyed house in sector G8. Its location is indicated on the map.

Unfortunately, the man does not know where the owner of the mansion is. Therefore, it will not give you exact coordinates. You can find Mr. Ditch in the Great Forest, square L12.

Be careful, there are many minefields on the territory. It is advisable to take an explosive specialist into the team. When you get to the indicated point, you will see that the Hermit was surrounded by Legion fighters. They must be killed before they inflict a mortal wound on Mr. Ditch. After that, talk to the guy.

Then you need to return to the mansion and talk with the butler. It remains to go again to the place where the Hermit was hiding in order to receive a reward.

Where to find Bastien in Jagged Alliance 3

You will meet this character for the first time at the very beginning of the game. You can find him on the beach in sector I1.

It is important to talk to him before you attack the fort. During a conversation with him, three scenarios are possible:

• Kill Bastien. Thus, you will get rid of one of the defenders of the fort in advance. In addition, you will be given 150 experience points and 10 Ernie's loyalty points. However, Pierre will not like your decision, which may prevent you from recruiting him to your team.
• Release Bastien. In this case, the opportunity to meet the guy later will open.
• Get a ransom. If you have a high wisdom parameter, then you can demand diamonds from Bastien. He will give you 3 pieces. This option also allows you to cross with a man again. The best alignment of events at this stage.

If you let Bastien go and then go to storm the fort, then he will take part in the defense, that is, fight against you. However, if you first visit the mercenary base in square H3, you can talk to the mercenary again. We indicated the exact location on the map.

This conversation also has several options for resolving the conflict:

• Kill Bastien. You will have to deal not only with the mercenaries themselves but also with his people. You will receive 150 experience points, Ernie's loyalty will increase by 15 points, and the fort will lose a valuable defender. However, as a result, Pierre will turn against you and will not want to join your team.
• Pay Bastien. Not the best option. You will receive 150 experience points, but you will lose $1000. And the man will still defend the fort. And after his death, you will not be able to recruit Pierre.
• Deceive Bastien. If you have a Fox in your squad, you will be able to outsmart the guy. You will receive 300 experience points and deprive the fort of a valuable defender.
• Convince Bastien to put his hands up. You will receive 150 experience points and 5 Ernie's loyalty points. And if you last time convinced a man to pay a ransom, then you will be given $115 and diamonds. In addition, it will be possible to pick up MP-40, AK-47 and cartridges for them from the ground. In this scenario, Bastien will refuse to participate in the battle for the fort.

Where to find Herman from Jagged Alliance 3

After you capture Ernie for the second time, go to Martha in the first village.

Talk to the girl. She will say that Herman is missing. You can find it in square I3.

Please note: your squad must have an explosives specialist. Without it, it will be difficult to overcome the minefield. It is advisable not to go directly to the target, but to go around the territory from the western side. Hide your squad behind a wall and send an explosives specialist ahead. He will clear the area until he approaches the soldiers. After dialogue with them, the battle will begin. Step back to the wall and shoot the enemy fighters.

After that, you can approach Herman.

As before, the explosives specialist should go ahead. When you get to the man, disarm the mine he's standing on and talk to him. The man admits guilt but asks to keep it a secret.

Return to Ernie. You have a choice of two options:

• It's none of our business. In this case, Luke will be hanged, and you will receive 10 Ernie's loyalty points and a generous reward from Herman. But Pierre will not want to join your squad.
• It was Herman! This option opens the next selection.

If you have reported who really killed the villager, you can decide what to do with the criminal:

• Herman deserved the gallows. You will receive 20 Ernie Loyalty Points.
• Don't kill Herman. In addition to Ernie's 5 loyalty points, you will receive a small reward from the killer.

Where to find and how to recruit Smiley in Jagged Alliance 3

Smiley has high parameters of strength and accuracy, but low agility. Because of this, it is difficult to call him a useful fighter. In addition, to save this mercenary, you will have to go through a difficult mission, which includes several difficult shootouts. Meanwhile, if you still want to get Smiley into your team, follow our instructions.

The first thing you need to do is talk to Maman about Molly's kidnapping. You will find her in square D7, in the slums of Pantagruel.

Examine the bathhouse, the top floor, and the roof. After that, you will be given the advice to talk to the priest in La Bue. Tell him that you know where Smiley is hiding. After that, you can talk to him in the secret room. Mercenaries will attack you. Kill them. To save a priest, you need to have a high indicator of leadership.

Smiley will then want to meet in person at Blauber's house. If you've already been to his mansion and completed the quest to save Luigi, then the gunfight will be a little easier. In any case, it is better to take two squads with you and act as competently as possible. The mansion is located in square I9.

First of all, kill the enemies that shoot at Smiley. After the battle is over, he will join your squad.

Where to find and how to recruit Jacques Boin (Flayer) in Jagged Alliance 3

Flayer is a good sniper who does not require a weekly salary. True, in order to recruit him, you need to have a fighter with a Wisdom score of 90 or higher on your team. If you do not have such a soldier, hire Barry for a week.

Head to the poacher camp, which is located in square C5.

Gilbert nicknamed the Jackal, will ask you to kill the Flayer. But you can not fulfill the order, but attract a man to your side. To find it, you will need to examine three corpses.

First of all, head to square C6.

Here you need to find and examine the body of one poacher. Focus on the deer antlers that will be on his head. Hyenas roam nearby, but it will not be difficult to deal with them.

Then move to sector B4.

We need to find and study two more dead people with deer antlers. When all three corpses have been examined, the Flayer will appear by itself.

Ask him to stop and then offer to hunt you. Only in this case, he will join your squad.

You will learn about Pierre when you visit the village of Ernie. Luke will ask you not to kill him. But the decision, as usual, is yours.

In order for Pierre to become part of your team, you need to fulfill a number of conditions:

During the assault on the fort, Pierre will surrender as soon as you get close. After that, it is important to let it go. You will receive diamonds from Luke and 10 Ernie's loyalty points. You will meet Pierre himself in the future. If you have fulfilled all the conditions, you will be able to recruit a fighter.

If you wish, you can execute Pierre. But all you get in this scenario is 30 units of Ernie's loyalty. There will be no reward from Luke and you will lose the opportunity to get a valuable soldier for your team.
