We give you a quick overview of the most important information about the release of Starfield - preload/download, Xbox Game Pass, the editions, and a brief insight into the gameplay.
What is Starfield? A new sci-fi RPG from Bethesda and the developer studio's first new game universe in more than 20 years. It follows in the footsteps of gaming giants like Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim or Fallout 4 but brings its own charm with it.
Starfield is coming to PC (Steam / Xbox app) and Xbox Series X|S, but not PS5 - although it almost became a PlayStation exclusive.
How much does Starfield cost? The Standard Edition starts at $69.99 on PC and $79.99 for Xbox Series. However, Starfield will also be included in the Xbox Game Pass for the release.
When is the release? Starfield appears in two stages. Early Access starts on September 1st:
- Early access: September 1st at 2am
- Full release: September 6th at 2am
How do you get into Early Access? For this you need at least the Premium Edition - which costs 109.99 euros in the Xbox app and for Xbox Series X/S and 99.99 euros on Steam. You can save by upgrading the version in Xbox Game Pass.
What do you need to know about downloading? You need around 125 GB for the download and Starfield's system requirements require an SSD hard drive. The preload is already online.
What can you do in Starfield? If you know one of the big Bethesda games like Skyrim, you can expect something similar: a lot of freedom, a lot of exciting stories, and huge areas to explore.
You create a character and head out into space with your ship. The shipbuilding should also play a big role and you can also hire companions and crew members.
